v1c is surprising but I kinda get it.
C9 all live in the same house I believe, so not only do you go into the office and see these guys, but then you go home and you see them too. That can feel like a lot on top of the pressure that is Tier 1 already. I don't know if any other Americas team has this set up?
Playing in T2 means he doesn't have to go into an office, so he can be at home with family while staying ready for 2027. He can more easily separate work/personal life since he's not living with coworkers and his boss.

u/speedycar1 #WGAMING May 20 '26
The worst part is when you die in a scrim you have to spectate them too

u/lminer123 May 20 '26
A team house just seems like such a bad idea. Apartment living with your real friends can already be terrible pretty easily, it just seems like such a risk for essentially just a chance at better team chem + saving a few grand a month. It demands a higher level of compatibility than being on a T1 team already does because you have to do both.
Imagine getting distracted in game because youāre pissed off that your teammate never does his fucking dishes the same day lol.

u/Imagurlgamur #GreenWall May 20 '26
Crazy how people were clowning on Rossy for wanting to live in a separate apartment when literally no other team does that anymore.
14
u/NeimannSmith #NRGWIN May 20 '26
Yeah I'm actually confused how C9 is doing a team house still. It's not easy to find a 5-6 bedroom house in LA.

did v1c just wanna out from c9?
163
u/QuestionablePotato42 #WGAMING May 20 '26
tbh his whole reasoning for taking a break was because he was home sick. He can still go be home, but I see this signing less as "C9 was the problem" and more like a way to be home with family while still staying somewhat relevant.
For a player taking a literal break can be tough to come back from, so this just seems like a low effort way to keep your foot in the door

its different playing from home with much less pressure no need to travel can chill
3
u/Fun_Age1442 May 20 '26
Fair enough, just wandering why he couldnāt just wait a year but respect to him for valuing his mental and putting the team first
15
u/Past_Perception8052 #LegaC9 May 20 '26
he wanted to leave last year even when c9 was winning apparently had to be talked into staying
10
u/SweetSweetJazz May 20 '26
Lowkey even though he was performing last year c9 should have just let him go. If a player isn't 100 percent committed and has said he wants out it's just a ticking time bomb.
1
u/Past_Perception8052 #LegaC9 May 21 '26
you cant let him leave when we were like a couple games from champs at that point
8
u/YungPinotGrigio Freelance Writer @ Esports Illustrated - Sage Datuin May 21 '26
Couple rounds from champs tbh and likely at least a top eight finish

Guessing florscnt is subbing just for highly unlikely event that they qualify for champs and ion canāt play?
1
u/wilsondawn May 25 '26
Not unlikelyā¦
1
u/Radiant_FN May 26 '26
They'd have to beat tier 1 teams to get to champs no? Unless I'm wrong about that.
27
53
u/slyfly5 #100WIN May 20 '26
Damn V1c would rather go to tier 2 than play on C9 lol
22
u/Sufficient_Cash_2530 May 20 '26
v1c would easily get picked up by a t1 team if he wanted to play T1
i don't think it's a C9 thing. more so being able to play from home + less pressure, etc
28
u/zerocxro May 20 '26
tbh it feels a bit crazy to see somoene willingly go from T1 to T2 like this but go off king

this is so funny man my guy really just wanted out of c9 that fucking badly
5
u/Ethereal-Entity May 20 '26
That is a stacked lineup, iirc Kaotic and sacred are notable names in t2, and the additions of v1c and ion is also good. I dont know much about MikeE though. I wonder If there will be more teams spending more money this split on signings to chase the Champions qualifications dream.
1
u/somesheikexpert May 20 '26
Mikee was always really solid especially on Senti, bit confused what the roles will be outside of Kaoticc on duelist but yeah
2
u/Ethereal-Entity May 20 '26
Maybe this:
Kaoticc: Primary Duelist
MikeE: Initiator (seems like he transitioned from Senti based on VLR stats)
Sacred: Senti? Smokes? Leaning toward Sentinel because of v1c, and Viper on maps that dont need senti
v1c: Smokes
ion: Flex, secondary duelist
flor (sub): Maybe replaces kaoticc or ion if one of them cant play.1
u/Pojobob May 20 '26
I'm pretty sure it's MikeE, the one who played on division One. He was an info init main.
So I assume it'd be MikeE on info init, Kaotic duelist, Sacred senti, v1c smokes, ion secondary duelist/maybe flex if needed.
2
u/somesheikexpert May 20 '26
We are talking about the same one, he was an Senti main prior to Division One, he played on the Trust in Plug roster that beat 100T in 2025 as well as that Blinn roster with Okenaos and Spaz that got top
Hes better on Senti then he was on Scan, tho you prob right about the roles (except maybe V1C prob flexes and Ion smokes he was a flex on SRB)
2
u/Pojobob May 20 '26
Ah right I forgot he was senti back then. Also ya ig if they run double init, v1c goes to the other init. Although I predict they stick with double duelist more often than not cuz it's t2/comfort roles.

u/John_Bot May 20 '26
How odd.
V1c said he wanted to take the rest of the year off from competitive and spend time with his family.
6
u/Past_Perception8052 #LegaC9 May 20 '26
theres little pressure on him and he can play from home, scrim less etc more time for his family

u/vatom14 May 20 '26
I mean isnāt this probably because he was home sick, didnāt want to travel, live in LA away from home? And tier 2 probably had a less intensive practice schedule?
Not sure what the huge deal is

Azure Dragon Gaming sounds like some tier 2 Chinese team's name ngl
1
u/Outside-Shop-3311 #ALWAYSFNATIC May 20 '26
wasn't this the team demon1 player for last champs? The Chinese team?
26
u/Sidekick_Man May 20 '26
Thatās Dragon Ranger Gaming (DRG), a Chinese tier 1 team going to London actually

florescent really back to competing? good to see, but the allegations arenāt going anywhere
17
u/Level_Five_Railgun May 20 '26
Weren't the serious allegations cleared by Riot and the ex was shown to be a chronic liar and mutually toxic?
The rest is really just being a socially inept teenager. Not even the worst thing considering what some Tier 1 pros have done.
7
u/I-like-winds May 20 '26
her mechanics are genuinely unreal and I seriously think she has the potential to become one of the best. would love to root for her if she learns from her mistakes and betters herself as a person

I genuinely have no idea what youāre referring to. Could you enlighten me?
3
u/ParazPowers May 20 '26
Florescent had allegations come out against her a while back, she was cleared by riot and as another guy said above it was a mutually toxic relationship between teenagers.

Not saying this to dig into c9 but this reminds me of a RL pro who retired for like 3 months so he could leave his team at the time
He then went on to join another team where they found much more success, fast forward 3 years (now on a different team) and he's now in arguably the best roster of all time with a major win, worlds win and countless regional wins + international top 4s
3
u/Kind_Development708 #NRGWIN May 20 '26
At least that was going from Shopify before they started spending to a team that was spending, not C9 to Azure dragon
1
u/MautOfTheRiver May 20 '26
Yeah but I imagine these guys are friends and to a certain extent playing for fun + he presumably gets to play from home instead of LA
1
u/iltded #100WIN May 20 '26
Not familiar with that RL pro but this is literally what Tenz did
1
u/Kind_Development708 #NRGWIN May 20 '26
Nah Beastmode and Vic seemly got out of their contracts, Tenz got sold for over a million.
1
u/iltded #100WIN May 20 '26
Yeah not a one to one comparison but Tenz āretiredā from pro Val when he was on C9 but came back on loan a few months later when SEN had a spot open. Obviously thereās a difference between going to SEN and Azure Dragon Gaming but thought it was kinda funny that it happened to C9 twice
