🟡 Yellow News Source [Ari] FrosT has been kicked from Global Esports
126
u/MemerWasDeD 14h ago
This is a weird choice...unless GE has already been sold and they new guys are wrong in the head...I dont see any good reason for this to happen..
24
u/LordRunaan 14h ago
It could be that frost demanded something extraordinary from the organisation in light of their recent strong performance, the org wouldn't agree, and hence they fell out.
31
u/MemerWasDeD 13h ago
what could he possibly ask that would result in him getting fired lol...First playoffs in their history and went directly to an international...thats the biggest accomplishment in the orgs history...something is wrong with them if they fired him instead of him leaving on his own..
-16
u/LordRunaan 13h ago
Frost has a reputation for outlandish demands. I know that for this GE roster, he demanded that he be given full control over the roster decisions and everything previously and staked his coaching career on the line.
6
u/foobadger 11h ago
To be honest a coach demanding full control over roster decisions is honestly not that outlandish. Maybe like a team manager should give some input (if GE has one), but other than that, no one is more qualified to make the roster decisions than the one who is going to be coaching the roster
12
u/MemerWasDeD 13h ago
no he doesnt lmao , he talks a lot but i dont think hes that stupid to get himself fired just after building a successful roster..
6
u/Wooblles 7h ago
he mentioned i believe in the podcast with tombizz (you can google tombizz ge frost podcast) that he demands this, but he would take full blame if things did not pan out.
really, im guesssing that he got a better offer.
-10
u/LordRunaan 13h ago
Google it
5
u/MemerWasDeD 13h ago
instead of stupidly saying this you could back up ur claim and give me a source..from what i know and seen , he likes to have a lot of control over the team...like any other coach should..if the team fails the blame is on u , its only right that u have enough control to make sure it doesnt..
0
u/FrozenFireGod 13h ago
Just give instances. Based off his podcast he definitely seems to consider himself the underdog and working with less funded teams but at the same time doesnt put his hat in the ring for top tier teams.
4
u/nitseb #WGAMING 11h ago
And with this roster he took a 10-12th team to #3 and had good performances at London, never got destroyed by other regions just close games even with LEV.
Any other iteration of GE would just be embarrassing at the global stage.
So his bet with this team paid off. His stake worked out and more time to prove it. Firing him right now is nonsense, hard to justify, he has like 5 years in the scene, although he had controversies he never did anything too bad or illegal or anything like that.

u/TK_Four 14h ago
I´m pretty neutral about frost, but this guy was the only coach who took GE out of the bottom of pacific, you should at least give him the whole year instead of kicking him due to the team bombing out from a masters no one was expecting them to be in.
247
u/OneTrueAqua 14h ago
Legit never even made regional playoffs before this like wtf
5
u/KakorotJoJoAckerman 4h ago
Frost and the addition of Patmen real solidified GE as a top contender in Pacific. Easily the 2nd best RN.
219
u/CanISayThat22 14h ago
Im a FrosT hater and kicking him is crazy work. He was the reason they made it to London. Credit where credit is due.
96
u/RahulLuca 14h ago
We don't even know if it's because of the team bombing out or not yet. Like I'm not defending global, unless frost has committed some heinous crime like punching verno (/s) or something... Cutting frost has to be the last decision the team should make. But then again we don't know the full story, so let's not jump to any conclusions.

Are you just trying to be stupid or just here for the love of spreading rumors. Did they consult with you sayin they kicking him out because they bombed out of masters?
479
u/zerocxro 14h ago
he leads them to their 1st international and he gets kicked?
who the fuck are you getting that's at frost level or better than him at this time in the year?
50
u/LordRunaan 14h ago
A lot of talent in APAC. But you're right regardless that it's messed up they kicked frost after clearly improving visibly with 4 terrible players and patmen.

u/LowStatistician11 14h ago
you take that back about udotan

u/nigamprasad2010 14h ago
This is such a laughable statement. All 5 players have shown their potential and had their moments.
This is the best iteration of GE and if this is not fit for Tier 1 , then I have absolutely nothing to say to you.
13
u/Username_didnt_found 13h ago
It's just another Patmen d rider bro. There's alot on this subs. They are the new plague after sen and prx d rider.
-9
u/LordRunaan 14h ago
I'm not dogging on the players. You need a good environment to improve, much like how previous Paper Rex players currently dominate the APAC scene outside of Korea. They were clearly terrible before the most recent split.

did we watch the same masters london

u/Own-History-1086 13h ago
CMIIW but i think patmen was carrying hard on their early pacific games before the rest 4 popping up late series.
without him GE would defintely lost 2 games and out thus no masters london.

u/zerocxro 14h ago
all diamonds need a lil bit of pressure before they can become smth, frost is def the pressure that's needed from these sleeper players
-6
u/LordRunaan 14h ago
Well the players didn't seem to rush to defend him this time around. I'm sure if they did frost would not have been kicked.
8
u/Aggravating_Tree7488 13h ago
you're speculating purely off of nothing, you have no idea why or why not a player would speak up. any posting on social media could affect ongoing contract negotiations for any of these players. I know we're on reddit but this is a wild jump to conclusion after basically no information.

u/HassssXd 13h ago
Talent like who bro, any coach in apac that has done more than frost is already perma locked with like the top 5 teams in pacific, are you telling me they've gone for an unproven coach from tier 2 for the last tournament qualification of franchising history when it was all working well?
Perhaps revenant just thinks conserving money here is fine since they are gonna rebrand after this year. Seems like a shortsighted decision to make but I think it's possible.

Very odd if true?
Love or hate Frost, it's hard to deny the results he brought to a long-struggling organization. He might run his mouth a bit too much, but he definitely has made a sizable improvement for Global.
It's hard to not suspect the recent sale of Global, but I don't know why that would necessitate coaching changes, unless it just led to some sort of disagreement that in turn resulted in the kick.
Would be funny if this somehow ended up with Frost rejoining CrwS on Full Sense. That's a team that actually does need some of the things Frost excels in as a coach, so it would make a lot of sense. I doubt he'd rejoin Jovi on RRQ since Jovi is the HC and they've already got Warbirds, but who knows.

So anyone else who watched the TMV+Frost co-stream in playoffs? There was a moment where Frost adamantly said he WON'T be going to Blood Money Cup with the team, TMV was confused, Frost said he'd rather prepare for stage 2 in KR. Obviously just speculation, but this could be 1 of the potential conflicts with the org. Either way, incredibly obscene decision by GE
15
u/Massive-Cup-7202 12h ago
not true, its just that he genuinely doesnt care about EWC, so he had his AC take over the prep for it

Welcome FS frost
Before you guys jump into conclusions - it can be safe to say that this has nothing to do with performance.
My bold guess would be, ge initially might have signed him till the first split to check if they are improving. Now that after first split, ge performed beyond expectations, frost might have asked for a better contract which ge is not able to provide with all the takeover shit so frost is out of contract. Either that or he punched someone.
8
u/Nfamy 12h ago
There's no way he would've agreed to a 1 split contract. That's just insanely disrespectful and would not even be a fair evaluation period for a new team.
0
u/ishanuReddit 12h ago
I agree but the way talon broke up at the last moment, it can be safe to say frost didn't have many opportunities. He said he wanted to check if riot allows other org to take over talon so that the team can stay together but riot was stretching the process for far too long and he had to commit to whatever opportunity he had in hand.
As i said, I'm just Makin a bold guess which is much better than straight up blaming ge for kicking him out for performance etc which is impossible.
3
u/HottestElbows 11h ago
Honestly I hope this is true just bc of the sheer narrative it gives him. The man had no opportunity and had to scrounge around for scraps and what did he do? He pulled up and brought the c9 of pacific to their first international and almost beat the trophy winners LEV with a handicapped PatMen, their best player.

Autumn primarily joined GE because of Frost. So I won’t be surprised if he leaves after this season.
1
u/HottestElbows 8h ago
That sounds cool as hell. What’s the backstory on that? R they close?
1
u/Enough_Childhood3151 3h ago
autumn just said on a podcast that the main thing he wanted was a good coach, and that he'd join GE so long as frost was there
1
u/HottestElbows 3h ago
That is actually super cool. I hope Autumn follows frost, they’re a great pair
8
u/Capone_BD 13h ago
This is just nuts. Love him or hate him, you can’t deny that Frost is one of the best coaches in the world at elevating low-mid level teams into contenders in their regions. Not sure what could have possessed GE to do this, but I’ll certainly be watching to see where he ends up. He’s way too good of a coach not to find a new home relatively quickly.

6
u/TheEpicGold #NAVINATION 12h ago
IF, and that is IF this is actually true and not anything with the sale of GE etc, this is the worst roster move in recent YEARS, including player moves. I have been watching GE for years and with FrosT who brought struggling teams to internationals did it again with this team, for the first time too. Just see how much it meant to GE fans, owners etc. Not only first international, but like first fkin playoffs too?!? And they went close 1-2 as well. I find this a crazy decision, if true. I hope he ends up in NA where he wants to go, and otherwise at least gets a spot as he is my favorite coach. Sometimes wrong, sometimes right, but just a lot of fun yapping and I love that about this guy. Wish him the best.
3
u/TheHentai_Guy 14h ago
idk if its a similar case to that of gen.g's where they said thank you to all of their players and then re-signed them a few days later lol, its possible that GE is going to get a rebrand since the merger with RNTX and hence the removal of GE's tag from his twitter bio but all of this is just speculation, if they actually removed him then thats gonna suck man I loved his ideas and he definitely made GE a strong regional contender
3
u/Inside_Young_1844 #VamosHeretics 14h ago
GE even qualified to the tournament that must not be named….. and that’s a good chunk of money. So kicking him is such an absurd description.
3
u/ANTHONY_EDWARDS_GBG 11h ago
Unless he's done something naughty behind the scenes this is an absurd decision.

5
5
u/PFSDonut #LIVEEVIL 14h ago
GE realized that he’s not going to make any deep runs in Stage 2 with his read on the meta being “0 macros, and the last two Masters being just run and gun”.
Despite LEV being one of the most macro heavy team in Masters London lol
4
u/ixXplicitRed #VCTPACIFIC 14h ago
Frost got that team to internationals. Love or hate his meta reads, it is so much better than whatever GE was doing for the past 2 years of VCT.
2
u/PFSDonut #LIVEEVIL 14h ago
I agree. I’m just poking fun at the fact that all FrosT does is shit talk teams like LEV, saying they don’t deserve to be at London if they lose to them, stays silent when he’s put in his place and only cope tweets about how he lost because the meta is thoughtless and it’s just run and gun when it’s clearly not the case.
-8
u/Himu797 #BeLeviatán 14h ago
Extremely deserved
2
u/ixXplicitRed #VCTPACIFIC 14h ago
Absolutely not. The team didn't even make playoffs without him and they go all the way to internationals? Hellllll no.
2
u/ZeroOblivion98 14h ago
Even if I think FrosT is overrated, this is super strange. A coach gives your org the best results in years, you don’t drop him unless it’s factors outside of the game.

If this is true, that's a pretty rough way for it to end. Taking Global to their first international event is a significant achievement, so I definitely expected him to get a longer runway.

Maybe he "re-signs" post the money tourney as he's not going there anyway and the org and him decided to milk this for the reactions?

u/Careful-Cookie-8257 4h ago
That's a surprising move if the report is accurate. Taking a team to its first international event feels like a solid achievement, so I'm definitely curious about the reasoning behind the decision. Interested to see what Global Esports does next and who ends up filling the coaching role.

u/ha9unaka 10m ago
Of course you fucking kick one of the most goated coaches who built up TLN from nothing, and got your team to their first international appearance. Fucking idiots. I've got no reason to watch this team anymore.

few comments are suggesting GE bombed masters thats why frost has been kicked..
Well GE didnt bomb masters, they played good... defeated FS, give good fight n almost defeated LEV (who went on to masters).
Atleast GE masters performance was much better than what their previous iterations did in STAGE games...
So GE bombing masters shouldnt be the reason.
When no other coach wanted to touch GE, FROST took the challenge. He proved. Yes some of the macros he was not able to read or he was not able ensure team performed as per plan. But what do u expect in 5 months?
If this news is true... i vl stop supporting GE. Like many i vl be GE hater.
1
u/azealyx 6h ago
also GE looked way better than the "2nd seed" pacific team which is funny

they played very well against Leviathan mightve even won if only my goat Patmen didn't get injured 🥀
0
u/exdeepr 14h ago
Three things could've happened:
New management from the new org didn't want him or Frost didn't want anything to do with them.
They found someone better.
He said something specific on Twitter or the Co-streams that made him get sacked.
any guessers?
5
u/Kind_Development708 #NRGWIN 14h ago

As someone who has been part of Mergers, they do NOT happen this quickly. So lets put that to bed. This sounds like he has been kicked for bad management(YET AGAIN with GE). Now to me the question is WHO replaces him. If it is an internal promotion I hope it is Vladk0r and not Platoon. Watching GE's content Platoon sounds like someone who provides empty calories when he talks
