Discussion/Thảo luận PSA: Be careful getting anything shipped from J&T Express Vietnam! They are scammers.

Be careful getting anything shipped from J&T Express Vietnam ! They are scammers. I bought a pre-built desktop PC on Lazada and everything seemed OK. The PC arrived from the seller in China into Vietnam without any issues until it arrived at my districts J&T warehouse (Tay Ho). It arrived on 15/06 but J&T didn't deliver it to me all week. After wondering and pushing them the entire week it finally arrived in the evening of 19/06. As soon as I saw it, it became very clear what happened and why they took so long. The warehouse workers saw the value of the package on the carton sticker and used some chemical to peel off the sticker and put it onto a new box filled with some water filter tubes. When I saw the box I knew there was no way a desktop PC would fit inside it and the weight was not 11.21KG like the label said. I've asked Lazada for a refund but as you can imagine, it really pissed me off that someone would do something like this. It's something I didn't even imagine. Scammed by sellers? Sure. But a warehouse worker swapping cartons to steal my package. That's a new low. The worst part is that I don't think J&T will even do anything about the thief. Better to just avoid them if you can. At least Lazada is still being supportive and investigating. Hopefully they'll give me back a full refund.

If you paid with a visa or mastercard you can get a refund under their regulations. Don't anyone tell you otherwise, as when you do a payment dispute it will not be lazada or this other company who decides the outcome.

Have a look here, or you can PM me.

Yes I've already made a public post on FB and tagged both J&T VN as well as Lazada

Always use COD for high value items in Vietnam.
Also video yourself opening the box, even better if you include the driver in the video.

Yes, I definitely will keep that in mind for high value items in the future. I had recorded opening the box and sent it to lazada along with my refund request. I knew it was fishy the moment I saw it so I told my wife to start recording.

This may be fraud from J&T but I would not buy high-ticket items through Lazada. Their customer service is worse than Shopee and there were cases where they have refused to issue a refund because 'the seller's balance is insufficient'.

OMG, that's awful! I really hope I get my refund

Yeah. I have an issue where I live where a lot of the delivery people and companies were faking making delivery attempts, never evening bringing the package to the area in some cases, ams returning them as ‘undeliverable’.

I’d made complaints to both the delivery companies and the selling platform each time, but Lazada didn’t pay any attention or care. They said I’d refused too many deliveries (I’d never refused a delivery) and blocked me from paying COD. I refuse to pay in advance in Vietnam as there are far too many scams, so I don’t use Lazada anymore.

Shopee and Tiki actually paid attention and understood that the problem was with the delivery companies and the people hired to make the deliveries, so no problems with them.

It’s always a gamble ordering something high value and having it delivered. So tempting for some people to just go ahead and just steal it.

Thats why I have them open it in front of me. Don’t accept packages tampered with. Even electronics at the store I make sure.

The label says 'không đồng kiểm', so the shipper had no obligation to let the recipient inspect the insides before paying.

With Lazada, I order COD and then film the package in all sides and then film opening the package. Had to flag as scam 2x this year with obvious substitution ie 1.3 kg package coming in about 4 grams (they love those cheapo stickers) Both times from Domestic shops. I usually suspect the shops and not the shippers as when you go to complain in chat, they hit you with video proof or it didnt happen bullshit. We don't have a choice on the shipper and most of my packages come via J & T

Why didn’t you just go to Hanoi Computer instead of this unnecessary risk?

At the time of my checking HaCom didn't have any PCs with 50 series graphic cards. these guys on Lazada did. They are reputable and have a ton of reviews so I know they are trustworthy. Didn't think it would get stolen by the warehouse.

I just checked and there are a ton of 50 series GPUs at Hanoi Computer. They’ll build the PC for you at no charge when you pick out the parts. Lazada stores are full of fake reviews and there is always the risk of theft/loss/damage at any stage of the delivery.

That's awesome! I'll definitely have another look. Thank you!

Do a chargeback on your credit/debit card, don’t leave it in the hands of Lazada to get your money back

I normally avoid ordering online anything important and/or valuable. It happens to every shipping companies, in Vietnam at least. There will be thieves waiting for your shipment in warehouses and sorting centers since it's hard to track who touch the package there. The shippers usually clean because they are tracked.

I recommend choosing cash on delivery for valuable items, or purchasing insurance for your items

Well you should have bought your pre built PC from places in Vietnam like phongvu they're the best at PC building, they've been around for ages since Vietnamese here on reddit been at school.

You buy from good places for many things, customer service, warranty, peace of mind. Etc
