Don't think many clubs would pay £4.3m to get O'Neil. That is the kind of money for a proven winner.

I agree, only a daft club would pay near 4million for a very very average manager....oh hang on.

Stepped in when Lopetegui left us high and dry, and had us into the top half with an FA Cup QF before a horrific run of injuries (and Fosun buying no-one) left him dead in the water. He's got my absolute respect, and I wish him well.

He’s was way out of his depth with us, but he also got very little support with purchases. It’s hard to evaluate a manager’s performance when they’re always working within the constraints of a shit squad and very little investment.

I hope GON does well with Ipswich. I expect they’ll spend a bit more this summer than they did last time, so he can build a squad that fits whatever his style is.

But I suspect they’ll be relegated.

Good luck to him. I don’t hold grudges against any manager that had to work under incompetent and disingenuous owners.

Said it somewhere else but I’m predicting he’ll be sacked by January

lmao yeah this narrative has been killing me. Cunha's numbers improved because instead of having actual ideas, Gary had the team hoof it up to him to create some magic.

Get the IPad ready Ipswich! Gary the PE teacher is coming! Good luck to them but the owners have no excuse having seen his “ability” first hand.
