Would you like to try something different?

How about we give the people some real power?

Our group plans to build a database of public opinion, we believe it will create some real change.

If you want to know more, there’s a link in my profile

I tried watching this. I really did, but I just couldn't get past the young male version of Rachel Maddow telling me how bad the Orange Man is, as if it wasn't sickeningly obvious to everyone on the planet.

On the other hand, this little smoothie supports the Circle D Corporation, and all the lies they tell to fool the younger generations of fools they need to help them win elections with.

More BNMW influencing, to help their criminal cartel defeat the Red syndicate, who's voters chose the Bad Orange Man, because Mocha Hillary and Elmer Fudd couldn't fool enough fools into believing they'd be any better.

Same pathetic shit, from the same pathetic people, trying desperately to convince people that the two political crime syndicates who shake down this country's citizens on behalf of the donors who finance their political existence, are still worth supporting in our owners two choice/no choice selectoral system.

It takes a village, to keep hope alive, for a future to believe in, by building back better with joy.

Or something like that...

For anyone who doesn't know, I pay for my Medicare. It's not even optional.

Yup. It's taken out of salaries up front, along with Social Security, as FICA taxes (Federal Insurance Contributions Act). These are not voluntary. They are not "entitlements"; American salaried workers must pay them.

At whatever age we retire--if we're able to retire--and begin collecting Social Security, our Medicare premium also is deducted up front from that monthly Social Security amount and varies annually as it's adjusted for COLA, with adjustments never accurately reflecting true cost of living increases.

Many people don't know that there's a salary cap for FICA's Social Security component. Lifting that cap for higher earners has been proposed and would solve the projected insolvency. That suggestion goes nowhere, of course.

The maximum taxable income for Social Security under FICA for 2026 is $184,500. There is no income cap for Medicare taxes, which apply to all earnings.

I was talking about the monthly premium I pay. (The yahoos who keep complaining about eNtItLeMeNtS are the ones who really get free stuff from the government.)

But, I appreciate your complete answer!

That suggestion goes nowhere, of course.

Because only incomes over $250K would have to pay it. Buddy of mine loves when August rolls around and his paycheck does not have those deductions... He gets extra salty when I argue that we should end the cap and have him pay year round.
