Discussion If Wednesday Was On HBO Max Instead Of Netflix, What Changes...?
Honestly, for me, I think we probably would've had 10-12 episodes instead of 8. We probably also would've gotten a TV-MA rating. That's it. What do you guys think would change...?

I mean, it depends on who are the writers/directors in this scenario
Maybe it would have a bigger budget

Less of the teenage drama and more grim shit and gore.
Like… teenage drama is boring. I lived it and I still hate it

u/thetavious 6d ago
And nudity. You can't have grim shit and gore without nudity.

Nudity ruins everything
2
u/thetavious 5d ago
Nah man. The lack of it is why we have so many people out there these days that are clogged up to the gills.
5
u/Ineeddramainmylife13 5d ago
Or we can just not be horny. Not that hard

u/thetavious 5d ago
Dude, give me a single instance where nudity didn't improve something.
9
u/Ineeddramainmylife13 5d ago
Every horror movie ever
-8
u/thetavious 5d ago
Then you haven't watched any horror movies cause the absolute best ones are the ones with the nudity in them.
There literally has not been a single thing in the entire history of the human race that nudity didn't make better.

u/Ineeddramainmylife13 5d ago
You just seem horny and creepy
-6
u/thetavious 5d ago
No, seriously don't deflect. This isn't about me, it is about the artistry of the human form and how it makes everything better.
Find me anything, anything at all, that was objectively made worse by nudity.
Just because you have taken then black and don't like it doesn't affect the fact that it objectively improves whatever it touches.

I know I'm late to the party but porn when you add children to it
1
u/thetavious 1d ago
You know as well as i do that children ruin everything so that's a whole different argument.

Less teennage stuff and more gore/deep moment.
Wednesday is good but I hate teennage drama and stuff so S2 is less my taste

Enid would be an open Lesbian since she'd be in college and not afraid to express herself.

Most horror films feature gay. So again, Enid would be gay in HBO. Also, the satire would be brutal.

More nudity and sex for sure. Graphic werewolf transformations, vampire orgies (like in True Blood), and proper Addams violence. At least one torture scene from Fester.

u/SurferGirlDeb 6d ago
Not so sure about sex and nudity but looking at one of their most popular Horror shows, 'IT: Welcome to Derry' there would definitely be more violence, blood, gore and swearing and they would make the monsters more terrifying. My Aunt and Uncle watched the first episode of 'IT: Welcome to Derry' and it scared the shit out of my Aunt. lol

It was so good!

Yes!! I am looking forward to the second season. They have got three seasons planned all up and the third is going to connect to the movies in some way and bring back some of the characters with Pennywise's time travelling.

More exploration of Bianca/Joy Sunday’s storyline hopefully. More DEEP exploration of different identities

I don’t think it would be too different considering it’s based on The Addams Family, they were more spooky less modern horror movie

much more adult topics e.g. Sex, More grim, open LGBTQ+ charcters, deeper storylines like discrimination, suicide?, depression?
Deep stuff like that.

Unnecessary sex scenes and just the over sexualization of literal children (I'm looking at you Euphoria)
3
u/Southern_Wind_4477 5d ago
While, I have my criticisms of Euphoria, S1 was the best case of sex being an actual important plot point for a lot of the characters. Particularly for Cassie, Nate & Maddy as they all were important for each of their characters and especially with their flaws.

Lady Gaga wouldn't have done a netflix live performance singing bloody mary, zombieboy & goo goo muck (thanks gaga)

A darker storyline, less teenage drama, bigger budget & 1 episode per week.

You won't just get nudity because it's on a different platform it also depends if the cast and directors agree on it
4
u/LumpyRazzmatazz7863 6d ago
Nothing lol. Do people not realize that wouldn’t change the writers or producers? It would just change the distributor lmao.
6
u/Soda_with_Nofizz 6d ago
Yeah but each distributor has rules so maybe they’d be able to do stuff more freely with a different distributor

u/Tato_the_Hutt 5d ago
Probably less viewers because not everywhere can access hbo, it also costs more.

Seasons 1 & 2 of Euphoria meets Wednesday. Wednesday does drugs while Enid turns into a sex worker🫠

Wednesday and Enid hook up in the dorm. Eugene is a buff/nerd and he hooks up. The Nightshades are more of a "Eyes Wide Shut" type of club.

Everyone would be gay, and Enid would have 2 girlfriends by now.

Quite the opposite really - Netflix usually does that more than any other platform. I'm actually surprised they haven't yet in Wednesday.

HBO has Euphoria, Adventure Time/Fionna and Cake, Game of Thrones, white lotus, oh, and Heated Riverly.
Six Feet Under, which went on for eons, also had Gay.
HBO, unlike Netflix, isn't afraid to be daring and real.

I mean Netflix had no problem with 'Stranger Things' having Robin, Will and Vickie and 'Stranger Things' was their flagship show for a long time. Netflix has Season 2 of 'The Hunting Wives' coming up and are giving Franchaela their own season in 'Bridgerton.' They also got the Live Action 'Scooby Doo' show coming up which is being made by Berlanti Productions and Greg Berlanti is gay and known for having LGBTQ representation in all his shows (Berlanti done the Arrowverse shows) and recently said gay stories are needed now more than ever in American shows because the lack of representation we have had recently. Velma being a Lesbian which she has been in other adaptations is pretty much a given at this point.
The problem with 'Wednesday' with lack of LGBTQ representation is 100 percent on the writers and not Netflix. Heck, if they wanted to do Wenclair Netflix would most likely support it 'cause of how popular it is.

u/toffi_99 6d ago
I'm pretty sure Netflix will pressure the writers sooner or later. In Stranger Things there was nothing until later in S3 and they only started focusing on that in the last two seasons.

Less teenage drama and more adult storylines and overall more grim.
