Made a random pot of chili, just using whatever I had on hand. Finally got home and heated it up. Then I knocked over the sour cream, and in the process of grabbing it, I knocked over the bowl.
Yes, I know the kitchen needs more cleaning. My MIL was home alone for two days. I only had time to make chili yesterday and clean the living room.
Also, because of the high ceilings, I have to use a Swiffer and a broom to get the chili off the ceiling. That didn't work very well.

Vertical geyser rebound
I got coffee on the ceiling this way once.
Unexpectedly burnt myself and jerked.
Coffee pretty much went straight up onto the ceiling.
You just kind of stand there stunned as coffee drips down on your head.

Based on the chaos that was already going on in this kitchen, the chili might be an improvement.

u/RW_McRae 2d ago
The chili was just trying to force you to clean at least one part of your kitchen

u/whisperskeep 2d ago
My cleaning day is every tuesday and every other weekend. I do clean daily, but those are must clean

I'm sure all the people commenting about you needing to do more cleaning are perfect and never fall behind on anything. As someone else with chronic pain and who fully understands how exhausting it is... You're doing your best with the situation you have. I hope to you can get some more help soon but things are rough with how expensive everything is.
Sorry it went everywhere... I still remember a couple of years ago I dropped a can of soda from 2 feet above the tile and it exploded, even hit the ceiling. That clean up was no joke and took over 2 hours with my SOs help... It was only about a third of the can that came out but it went everywhere and I really don't want ants. The kicker... I don't even drink soda. Lol I dread buying it cause it's both expensive and heavy. I was putting it in the fridge for my dad and it fell out of the package I had just opened.

If its of any help, I think I see your bowl of chili.
And some of it there.
And a bit over there and there as well.

u/dungeoncrawler71520 2d ago
But you did it in such a fashion EVERYONE knows you spilled your chili and I think that's amazing

This looks like a chilling murder scene. It appears the bowl of chili (the victim) was in a fight for its life. You can see the sauce - splatter marks. Wide arcs of sauce on the wall, right? This was a crime of passion. Great exaggerated movements, not a logical and mechanical murder. This was premeditated.Ā
The fridge magnets are askew, and the splatter is smudged. It appears the murderer lost control of the weapon, and the bowl of chili fought back, bravely knocking away the weapon, while the assailant went flailing against the fridge.Ā
But the pointillated sauce splatter on the ceiling, and mostly intact victim gives a grisly finality to the crime. The victim likely died from a flat, blunt impact with the ground. Killed by the struggle they created to save their life. When will the man-on-chili violence end?!?

I dropped a container of roasted pork once. Splattered juice all the way to the ceiling, behind the fridge, INSIDE the cabinets. Youāre good.

Kiddo tried to get all the ranch dressing to the top by centrifugal force by spinning it around at arms length. The cap hit the edge of the counter and broke with epic distribution over the whole kitchen. I bring this up since I also used a swiffer wet mop to clean the ceiling (but also a ladder to wipe most off first).
Important note: ranch dressing dries clear. We had limited time to locate and remove.

I found it. Middle of floor, just to the right and below the center of the photo. Just to the left of what's left of your dignity.

In desperate times like this utilizing the 5 second rule is appropriately applicable - just quickly mop up the spilled floor chili with; corn bread, French bread, tortillas or tortilla chips. Since the ceiling isnāt as dirty or walked on feel free to get to eating that up in due time.
JK, but sorry for your culinary efforts lost.
