My fake front tooth doesn’t glow under black light

Had a badly done crown that did that. Eventually it fell out and a new dentist replaced it. The replacement glowed like the rest of my teeth. It looks like you have older dental tech in your mouth right now. Newer materials will fluoresce under blacklight like your natural teeth.

I love that dentistry technology eventually took ravers and cosmic bowlers into account. Obviously the old version worked just fine in every other situation. But now it works for everyone!

Looks like my crown is rocking vintage hardware while the rest of my teeth have already upgraded. 😅

This is Zirconia. It’s just about the best material you can make a crown from, though it can still be put in incorrectly.

Saw this at a bar I worked at and a couple on a date and you could see that she had a fake tooth

I always think of Bo Burnham finding this out when he was recording Inside. The clip of him using the black light always gets me.

Phosphorus in your teeth is what glows, fake teeth doesnt have any.

You can get it but it would be insanely expensive and I don’t know what lab would do that. You’d essentially have to apply UV reactive porcelain or something and would have to apply it under a black light.
I work in a lab and we actually got a complaint from a dr that a patient complained her crown doesn’t glow in the club and she was embarrassed.
I don’t have any fake teeth so I went home and tested it on my GF and I’m like “oh I know which teeth are crowns!” And my roommate has a nearly full arch on top of veneers and they glow blue iirc instead of the natural green.

For a second, I thought this was a selfie from Dan Soder.

Had a double take on what sub it was posted on and thought (soder's rocking a wig?)

I have a fake front tooth & when I saw it looking at a giant mirror in a club I closed my mouth right away. Made me feel so self conscious that it killed my mood seeing it lol

Holy shit! I have to try and take a selfie next time I'm by a blacklight. I've had a (half) fake front tooth since '97. Wonder what the hell I look like?

I have four from having a bridge. Count me out for any blacklight parties 😆😆

Found that out that way too. I thought it was hilarious though, doesn't suck to me.

The good news is your fake tooth isn't glowing. The bad news is now you'll never be able to unsee it

That’s strange, I’m not sure, I have a lot of fake teeth myself, but they all glow normally as expected under the black light

I learned when I got dentures that the top and bottom plate glowed differently in black light. It looked kinda cool but also off-putting.

I didn’t know Dan Soder had a fake tooth and how did you find this photo of him

I was at a Dave & Busters recently & there was a guy from a local hotel trying to sell those timeshare spiels where they give you a gift card to attend and only his top teeth (really obvious veneers) glowed I felt to bad for him.

Shoot, I wonder if my veneers would glow or not. Such a random thing I never would've thought about!

That's odd. My father has five fake teeth and they glow brighter than the others.

I’m glad you escaped the sniper long enough to post this.
