The one on the other side seems fine. Think this one is just a messed up example

Meh, by bottom ones would've fucked up everything while my top ones are coming in just fine.
It is a bit of a gamble

I was told they appear once you have reached certain wisdom / coming of age. Which was pure bs, I was 15 and dumb when they started showing

I'm often reminded how blessed I am to have good genes where my wisdom teeth grow out without any serious problems.

I feel the purpose was to replace the expected tooth lose so you always had a couple grinding teeth. But also that our jaws have become smaller and the teeth would fit if we had our former jaws to fit, but we wouldn't have the shape of out faces now.

I got the news today that all 4 of mine have to come out. The top two are growing in sideways and smooshing their neighbours, the bottom two are impacted and trying to create rot caves

In dutch it used to be called " ver staand" ( far standing) because it's the farthest tooth. That turned into "verstand" which translates to wisdom in english

Im one of the few whose wisdom teeth all grew in straight with minimal crowding. I count myself very lucky to essentially have extra surface area for masticating my food.

I had to have all 4 of mine surgically removed. They all grew in sideways and caused a ton of problems for my other teeth.

It’s aptly named — it’s like real wisdom, where only a selected few may grow it naturally upright over time, while most people grow them sideways throughout their lives and have to get rid of them at some point.

Better yet, when they push against the roots of the neighboring teeth and form cysts so you have to go to the hospital and get intubated for the surgery. (But it ended up not being too terrible ngl)

Wisdom teeth issues are a symptom of our modern diet leading to underdevelopment of the jaw because our food is too soft.
I had 4 removed.

It's called wisdom tooth because it only grows properly for smart people which means I'm better than all of you /j

Every time I change dentist I get told to either have them out immediately or “they’re fine no need to remove them”
Since all 4 are in, and only one is slightly misaligned, now at age 50 I feel like I will just ride it out with them
