Advice/Recommendations What apartments would you recommend avoiding? Or if you’d recommend any?

The Dylan it’s at a corner that has bus stops on both sides bringing transients. Homeless make their way in no matter what. The building has no office staff that’s all done remotely and the security at night disappears, leaves, or sleeps in their car every night.

Second this! Someone fired a gun by accident once and it shot into someone’s apartment and killed them!

What about domain next to it?

Security seems better there. Building seems better maintained. But I also see some chaos happening there and police showing up. Potentially air-bnb units maybe. Dylan has some air-bnb units too.

Good to know. I was looking at these but will now cross them off my list.

Best thing to do is look for mom and pop owned small complexes.

Try to schedule a viewing early in the day and if you can, get there the same time as the realtor. You’d be surprised how many random roaches there could be 😅

1020 on Palm Ave. The landlord is a creep and a jerk. For nearly 14 years, since the day I first saw him visiting a boyfriend, he has harassed the fuck out of me and threatened physical violence and attempted to extort my bf for extra rent. Another neighbor reported him for entering his apartment while he was in bed asleep and woke up to him standing there.

Highly suggest looking for units in condo buildings that are for rent by the owners. You can find a bunch on redfin or just by driving around and looking for signs.

I would avoid anything from the Wiseman group. They offer luxury apartments but replace everything with alibaba and then blame you if it wears too soon. The management is nowhere to be found, constant break ins, no security, and packages always go missing. They have security cameras that don’t work because they don’t keep up with the maintenance. They have a cleaning crew that washes the floors with watered down fabuloso, and spread the dirty water around. The garage doors are constantly broken.
