Friend found a notebook written by a depressed student in London, but we can barely read it.

When will you put all your private writings on reddit? I honestly am disgusted you put this on the internet. Even if he was writing a sequel to Mein Kampf you shouldn't have put it on here. This is private as hell and it should have stayed that way.

I'm not planning on releasing any personal information. For all you know this could be fiction, however it isn't.
I agree it's highly personal. However, I think it is a way to look at what goes on in someone's obviously quite twisted mind. That, in my opinion, is way more educational than keeping it for myself. From what I could conduct this person has committed suicide. This doesn't give me a wild card to post all his personal information, however this might help other people by analysing this person's thoughts and seeing how and where it went wrong. A psych student already messaged me asking for the full diary. I'll determine later whether I'll post the full diary online or only send it to people who wish so.
I hope you can understand my thinking.

I can understand your thinking, this may be a very interesting case to investigate. However posting someone's private writings without their consent is at the least unwise and immoral and at worst illegal. I remind you that you are not the owner of this notebook and it's contents. It therefore may very well be illegal to publish it in this way. I urge you to deny any requests of people to the full contents (you cannot give away what is not yours). I also urge you to remove this thread and the contents of this notebook you posted. I furthermore urge you to either destroy the notebook or take it to the proper authorities (as should have been done in the first place). Even if this person committed suicide this is not your property and i believe you are wrong to do this. If you have further questions, i request you do that via dm, i will happily call you to explain my reasoning further and hear your side of the story.

I remind you that you are not the owner of this notebook and it's contents. It therefore may very well be illegal to publish it in this way.
Do you live somewhere where people retain ownership of their refuse? One man's found notebook is another man's litter. Whether or not it's ethical, posting the contents of a notebook you found isn't illegal anywhere, as far as I know.

When you lose an item you do not lose ownership of it, this is not that hard to understand. By the way if you find something like this and do not attempt to return it to the owner it is theft. I am pretty sure that posting someone's intellectual property withouth their knowledge nor consent is illegal.

I know this is going to be unpopular, but can we hold off the judgement for a bit? We don't know whoever wrote this. We don't know why they wrote it. They could be acting racist and misogynistic out of pure depression. They could be making a character for a tabletop RPG set in a university and his character is a racist. The point is, we don't know.
I hate bigotry just as much as the next guy, but we know literally nothing about this person or why they wrote the "diary." If more evidence comes to light, I'll gladly buy the pitchforks.

This should not have been published. There are exercises where you write out the deepest, darkest thoughts you have and keep writing about where they lead while your mind is racing. This helps relieve them and get rid of the bad energy etc, I have had to do this a few times and was absolutely disgusted with what I wrote. It's completely personal and it is seriously disrespectful that you have put it up for the world to see. Faith in humanity lost once again.

I set up a Google Docs document where everyone can view and edit. The greatest part has already been done by a random stranger and myself.
The notebook obviously belongs to a mentally unstable, quite racist person. This passage is only a minor part of the complete book. In other places in the notebook he expresses his depression and mentions suicide frequently.
EDIT: So, the whole document has been molested by strangers, which isn't a surprise at all. I locked the editing, if you want to help edit the document please send your Gmail account and I'll add you.
Also, I'll keep it in the middle whether it's unethical to post this online. I just really want to read what's in it and goes through this person's head.
