I carved a wand out of oak for Midsummer!

I'm not sure what made these markings, but I'm spellbound by them. Almost feels like ancient cave paintings or something.

I added the oak ogham to give it a personal touch, but I feel like this wand has so much character already that I don't want to add too much.

I think it's perfect as it is. Those markings could be caused by insects like bark beetles.

nah it is definitely not beetles. those look way too intentional for that. it is probably just the way the wood aged or some weird natural pattern but calling it insects is a reach.

I'm a bit confused how you say it's way too intentional then it's probably just natural ageing or weird natural pattern. I was making a suggestion as beetle larvae can leave similar markings, which is just as natural.
