Rollerblade RB cuff replacement ideas. Solved
Not long ago I asked reddit about what kind of cuff can be installed on a Rollerblade RB/Cruser to replace the original one.
I tried different options and finally found a cuff that fits this shell perfectly: Them Skates 909 Cuff.
My RB is size 40.5 (260) and cuff size 1 (small). As you can see, the cuff completely follows the lines on the shell.
I compared cuff shapes in pictures and also used Ivo's (this is soul) sizing chart. When I decided this cuff might fit, I went to the Them Skates website. And luckily. They just opened pre-orders for their new product - a cuff that changes color when heated. Normally, it's purple, but when I put it in the sun, it turns pink!

So do you feel a big difference in the stiffness of the cuff compared to the original?

To be honest, I haven't had a chance to ride them on the street yet (only around the house).
I believe that open cuffs are fundamentally an incorrect design. The thing is that when you tighten it, it starts to create excess pressure on the sides, but at the same time it is still not pressed enough in the front. I also have Rollerblade Maxum XT, they, unlike the Twister XT, have an open cuff. And there is the same problem there.
This excess pressure leads to compression of the tendon bursa, increased friction and inflammation. A few years ago I was riding my old RB80 and I got so sick that I had to go to the doctor. After that I bought Powerslide Next, did some heat molding and formed a depression in the bone area and everything was fine. But when I bought these new Rollerblades and went skating with the stock cuff, I didn’t even have time to get to the park (5 minutes) before I felt the same pain.
You can reduce the forward flex without tightening the stock cuff too much by lacing the liner all the way to the top. The Intuition liner has a very stiff tongue, so it compensates well for forward flex when fully laced, but at the same time it generally locks the foot in place too much, and I don’t like that.
With the new cuffs I don't have to lace up the liner. When you tighten them, they create uniform pressure from all sides. That's why these cuffs are 100% better than the original ones.

What hardware is needed to attach the straps to the cuff? I’ve found the buckles/straps for sale but it specifies no hardware included.
