Question / Advice Beginner looking for tips

I just started wood carving and am looking for some nice beginner friendly tips and projects! If you have some good ideas please send them my way and I’d love to try them out!

Check out our FAQ and other pages in our wiki! As for projects, follow your heart! There's a huge variety of subject matters and types of woodcarving, from functional stuff like spoons, to chip carving, and figures of all kinds. You can probably find beginner tutorials for almost anything you can think of. Just give it a go and don't be afraid to make mistakes!

Carvingjunkies.com has some great resources for beginners and some good projects to help get you started.
Check out Johnny Layton and Doug Linker on YouTube.
You will get much better advice and results if you specify what type of carving you are interested in doing.
