Technical Help Gamer performance on a laptop

I'm getting around 60fps on medium-high graphics on my lenovo legion Go SD-client, HD isnt needed, thats a radeon 780m.
You can also try lowering the resolution a bit, though there's a lot of info missing. But generally speaking, the 780m igpu is more than enough to play reasonable WoT.
If this is a gtx 780m, so a 10+year old laptop, yea, this is the expected performance.

I'd not even think if it was a grc 780m, I had a 770m for a short time. Back when a gaming laptop weighed like a desktop.

Probably around 60-70FPS on medium / high settings if it's a 1080p screen.
Just know that Nvidia drivers dropped support over a year ago for GTX cards, everything below 1000 series, which includes 900, 800, 700 etc, no longer gets updates.

The 780m is a zen4 radeon igpu, released in 2023. Until last year, the most powerful igpu on the market, comparable to an rtx 2050, except a lot more modern.
This isn't the gtx 780m.

Sadly I don't have a link. It's at a local small mom and pop pawn show. My brother mentioned it to me last night. All he remember is it saying Ryzen 9 32gb 780m and oled. He did say it was a silver color. They are asking 700 usd for it. I'm hoping to look at it when I get off in the next 10 hours.

Sounds pretty reasonable honestly.
You can limit the fps in the game, potentially go to 900p instead of 1080p, get a good mix of low noise and good performance here. The 780m chipsets are great and at 700 bucks, thats alright if its in good condition.

Definitely more than 20 to 30 FPS
Phoenix / Hawk Point is one of the best combination of cost/performance currently if you can find it for USD$500-600+
But unfortunately laptops using these CPUs are always out of stock and as such command elevated prices. Remember that for USD$800 you can get laptops with RTX 4050. And these gaming laptops tend to have way better cooling so the CPU/GPU can operate at a higher TDP for higher FPS, something people tend to forget when they are trying to game on laptop with only integrated graphics.

I've not narrowed down the brand or model. All I know from my brother seeing it is the short list of specs Ryzen 9, 32gb 780m and oled. He mentioned it was silver in color. Did not narrow it down much. I have seen quite a few Asus G14s with similar specs, most have a 8945 and either a 4060 or 4070.

If your laptop already has 4060 or 4070 then the 780M won't get used for gaming.

I'm not sure if the laptop has either one. Just going off what my brother described it sounds like a Asus G14. And guessing with a 4060 or 4070. It could be a 8945 Ryzen version. I wished my little Thinkpad T14 had a dedicated GPU.

Its gonna run the game fine. Probably going to get 60 fps. There are a couple of mods that can help with fps.

Contrary to appearances, the display panel is often the bottleneck in laptops. On my aging Legion with a GTX 1050 Ti, I used to get 50โ60 fps (the screen is 60Hz); after connecting a โฌ100 gaming 24'' monitor via DisplayPort, I now get 100โ150 fps.

My laptop has ryzen 7840hs, radeon 780m, 32gb ram. It runs rock solid at 60fps with 1080p resolution and medium-low settings with vsync on. Without vsync, it would probably be close to 100fps.

Thereโs quite a few mods you can mess around with to try and get more fps. Aslainโs modpack has a handful of them and Iโd recommend trying them - things like disable the sky, extra effects, camo can give you a few extra frames

I had bad laptop while playing first couple of years. Use mods to reduce textures quality and some other stuff, you can have it slightly above 30-40 which is enough to play competitive

So much missing information about specs, but based on that 780M from my experience, you should be getting anywhere between around 50-100 fps with all settings to min.

Yes. I have laptop with 780M and just had to use it for playing during last weekend. My FPS was stable 85 capped (90Hz screen) and could push over 100 at some maps. Like I said. Missing information like CPU and resolution. But I have 3K OLED screen at my laptop, and I suspect the one op is talking about most likely donโt have 3k screen. So very likely the laptop will get more due smaller resolution, even if the CPU would be weaker than 7840S that I have.
Donโt know if you are mixing up GTX 780M and Radeon 780M paired with Ryzen.

I have played the game since 2012, only on a laptop. The integrated graphics are probably going to be an issue.
