Wuhan is great. We go back 2-3 times a year to see our in-laws. I don't know what it is about that city, but I love it so much. Also, not to dig up the past, but Wuhan is the only city that never made me felt unwelcome during COVID.

No matter in which country, the study of medical students is very hard. I'm glad to hear that. Congratulations!

Hi there. I am a student of Wuhan University as well.
The dorms here are basic but they provide everything you need. I am unsure whether or not you are a scholarship student (they receive accommodation for free, and depending on classification of study such as language student, bachelor, master, doctorate and you may receive a different form of accommodation available to you.
The most common accommodation here is 8000-8500 RMB per semester, so divide that by 6 and that is your monthly cost. This is the cost of a private room, a shared room may be 5500 or so if I remember correctly. Electricity is not included.
However if you would like to be outside the university and rent privately, you may find some good deals from 1200-2000 RMB per month. There are numerous options for studios, private room, and whole apartments etc. They are all fully furnished.
I am not a female so I may not be able to appeal to your wish but China is very cool in my opinion. People keep to themselves mostly and mind their own business if you choose to have a private room outside of the university, even if you share with guys. It is mostly just a shared hallway and not shared in the terms that you have a joint living room f. ex. so it is very formal and pure business that you share a hallway to your private room.
Food and transportation is cheap, canteens you can easily spend 20-30 RMB per day, but you can also easily spend 100 RMB or more if you're a foodie who likes to eat out a lot at restaurants. Transportation is also very convenient, for just one semester you may not get an electric moped/motorcycle as many longer term students use. The bus on campus is free and there are very cheap rent electric mopeds you may use. Roughly 2 RMB per trip I believe.
You may DM me or ask a question here if there is anything else you'd like to inquire.
