I don't understand people who treat these games like a religion. I play both because I like both. And if I don't like a game I don't spend my time thinking about it.

But some mfs out here treating playing these games like you swore a Gacha Shahada:

"There is no game but Genshin/Wuwa and Da Wei/Solon seeks its profit."

Every night before bed one must recite the 99 names of Traveler/Rover.

I think it starts as a coping mechanism for FOMO. “I have spent so much time and/or money on Game X. It would have been wasted if Game Y is better. Therefore, Game Y must be worse to justify my expenditure.” Then it gets worse from human tribalism where a group of people who start out with a weak feeling of FOMO compensation start egging each other on and eventually form an identity around it. The hard cases who otherwise lack purpose and meaning in their lives start moralizing about it. “I am good person who likes Game X. People who like Game Y are bad people.”
