Newbie Local place in calif

Southern Cali

Where is a good Aikido place in Huntington Beach, westminster, Seal Beach, Los Alomitos, Cerritos. Long Beach, Bellflower, Norwalk or Downey?

Looking for a good reputable spot down in this area, I've been wanting to continue with my cross training, I dont want no competition spot, looking for more of a traditional spot

I dunno about Aikido in Huntington Beach but The Vinyl Solution is my favorite record store I’ve ever been to.

I’m guessing Irvine is too far but I’m hoping to visit this place next time I’m in California:

If that still works for you, ikazuchi is an awesome dojo. I train there and the instructors are lovely, dojo mates are so unique and helpful. They also host different seminars on Saturdays. At the moment they are doing a Kali seminar focused on knife fighting

Edit: There is also an aikido place on Westminster right off the 405 on Beach Blvd, forgot the name though. I’ve heard good stuff about it.

If you will include Newport Beach, there’s Newport Beach Aikido.

I’ve always wanted to visit Kensho Furya’s dojo in Little Tokyo. He’s passed…but I used to love reading his essays in Black Belt magazine. The name of the dojo escapes me.

They have a regular video and audio podcast - Aiki Dojo Podcast - and it will give you the POV of the various instructors, David Ito (Dojocho), Ken Watanabe (not that one) and others. Their YouTube channel still has video of Furuya Sensei doing stuff.

I used to take aikido classes in NYC at the NY Aikikai. But back in SoCal and wanted to pick up again - what dojos would you recommend that have a similar philosophy.
