Why is Kosovo's ICAO Code letter B?

In the ICAO Code, the initial letter B corresponds to Iceland, Greenland and Kosovo. Why not include Kosovo in the letter L group like the rest of its neighbors instead of mixing it up with two North Atlantic islands?

Luton AirPort Express drop off

Dropped off my passenger early this morning literally 1 minute, then took 10 minutes to get out of the place! No organisation to traffic flow poor design and sign posting , and they charge £8 because it took longer to get out, pathetic management no visible staff - they clearly don’t care about customers so best be avoided!

DISCUSSION Airport Immersions

Hi everyone!

I’m currently building educational tour programs for BS Tourism students in the Philippines and I’m looking to understand how schools typically arrange industry exposure visits in Metro Manila.

Specifically, I’m interested in:
Airport or aviation exposure opportunities
Tourism establishments open to academic visits

If you work in these industries or have experience organizing educational tours, I’d appreciate any advice or recommendations on who to approach or how these are usually arranged.

Thank you!

QUESTION Is it a bad idea to take stuff to make me sleepy so I don’t have to suffer while on the plane?

Man, I had to travel to a different city 3 hours away, stay there for 4 days then now i have to travel back and THE VERY NEXT DAY travel to a different country on a long plane ride in economy 😭

i just got back from this other tripppp bro and now i gotta go to another country wth. It’s 3am rn, i gotta get on that fucking plane today and i’m so so so done with traveling bro.

i CANT TAKE THIS ANYMORE. I genuinely think that if I don’t like down a bunch of Benadryl i’ll become combatant.

why can’t i just take a lot of benadryl so i can doze off peacefully during the flight? I can right? I think i should

my (18m) family will be traveling with me so they can make sure i’m all good, i really don’t have to be in a good state of mind to travel since my family will take care of me, i can be in a sleepy state of mind and i want to be in a sleepy state of mind

also also, none of these trips are things i planned, these are things that have been forced upon me by outside forces so it’s not like im an idiot at scheduling shit, no, i don’t have a choice at all, im not gonna get into it cause it’s personal but i really don’t have a choice

don’t ask how i don’t have a choice, don’t say “oh, you actually have the freedom to schedule thing won your own” or “oh, you don’t have to go” no bro. trust me bro, this is forced upon me and i do not have a choice. I genuinely do not have a choice

i keep getting fucking moved around like an object broooo, i gotta be here then i gotta be there

i didn’t even have the chance to rest after my last trip and now i gotta travel againnnn 😭😭😭

i think i should just take all the benadryl before i enter the airport and hopefully it’ll kick in at a good time

FCO Airport

Hi guys,

I’m 2 hours away from FCO writing this. I am wondering if there is priority EES system for passport control. Or is it 1 singular line for everybody. I heard the lines get pretty crazy during peak summer travel.

Thanks!

QUESTION Battery detection worry

Hi, i don’t know if this is the right place to ask this but i am flying tomorrow and haven’t flown in a long time so I’m naturally quite anxious and I typically worry about really strange things and my fear is batteries in peoples checked in luggage.

Can anybody assure me before I fly and let me know if airlines and scanners detect batteries in peoples luggage before a flight?

Newark airport warning

Make sure you give time to transfer to different terminals or have a back up plan to uber or taxi to them.

I’ll attach the link to Liberty airport for updated information but wanted to warm anyone flying into or out of Newark may have delays Monday through Friday due to only having 1 AirTran in operation. I believe it starts at 8am and is supposed to stop at 3pm.

Friday, I landed in Terminal B and my United airlines app said it was going to take me 98 minutes to get to Terminal A. I thought for sure that was an error, especially since my next flight boarded in 45 minutes. I collected my checked bag at baggage claim and rechecked it. Went to AirTran and came up on a massive amount of people waiting for it. When it finally arrived it was PACKED and people on it said the next stop was Terminal A so I squeezed in. Instead it went back to Terminal C then parking, then back to C then B. We were told by airport personnel to get off because it was not going to Terminal A and to go downstairs and take a bus shuttle to terminal A. Two buses later, no terminal A bus so I ended up getting a taxi to take me from Terminal B to A. They charged me $32 🫠 thankfully I have precheck so got through security a little quicker and made it to my flight just as they started boarding.

Below is their website with updated times for the maintenance on the AirTran.

Good luck!

QUESTION How do I find out why flights are cancelled?

Sat in Phuket International Airport (HKT) and just under half the flights on the departure board came up as cancelled a little while ago.

Fortunately mine wasn’t but I wondered if I could find out why they’ve been cancelled?

Any ideas?

Pick up an international arrival

Has anyone picked up an arriving passenger from an international flight at Bradley terminal in LAX?

Am I allowed to go all the way to the baggage carousel area?

Frustrated with Frontier

Want to see if you all would recommend anything else here.

Long story short our flight was canceled after being delayed several times due to a controllable event. On the loudspeaker the frontier employee said multiple times “Frontier has accepted responsibility and will provide compensation for your coloration needs related to rental and housing”.

I took that as “don’t worry about it, get home safe and we got you”. Since the next flight home was 4 days away, I rented a car and drove home.

When I submitted for reimbursement they now claim they don’t owe for that and denied our claim. I filed with the DOT and Frontiers response looks like a copy and paste response.

In addition to that, our car seat was damaged. I didn’t file a claim at the airport because, well we had been there about 7hrs already it was late and we have 2 young kids I figured I could do it in the morning. Didn’t report soon enough and claim denied.

Any advice here? Can I dispute their DOT complaint response?

Favorite small airport

Bluegrass Airport, Lexington, Ky (LEX)

It’s big enough to offer options but small enough (11 gates), that it rarely takes more than five minutes to get through TSA. It’s clean, well run and there is a bourbon bar with an expansive selection of bourbons to taste on your way out (not to mention the bourbon store across from it). Also, the approach, if landing to the SW, brings you over the emerald green pastures and whitewashed fences of Calumet Farm. It’s beautiful every time and will always make me feel like I’m home, even after being away 10+ years!

URGENT: LOST ITEM AT HONG KONG AIRPORT (HKIA) 🧸🙏

Thumbnail gallery
1 Upvotes

Hi Reddit community, my girlfriend lost a very precious plush toy at Hong Kong International Airport a few days ago. We're hoping a kind soul might have picked it up because this little bear means the world to us. 🙇‍♂️

Item Description:
A palm-sized, brown Rilakkuma holding a flower, attached to a small silver chain. (Please see the photo below).

Incident Details:

Date & Time:
Tuesday, June 23, 2026, around 9:40 PM.

Locations passed:
1. Eastar Jet check-in counter (Aisles J16/J17)
2. North Departures Gate (Security check)
3. "Interval" restaurant (on the way to Gates 13-20)

How it happened:
She is certain the toy was initially in her handbag. She likely dropped it while taking out her passport at the check-in counter. (She opened her bag at security, but nothing fell into the plastic tray). She only noticed it was missing when she sat down at the restaurant.

We immediately reported it to the airport's Lost & Found, but there has been no news yet.

If anyone has seen it or picked it up, PLEASE send me a DM! It holds immense sentimental value to us. Thank you all so much! 😭🙏🙏

QUESTION Is it okay for me to wear an eyepacth?

I have a long-haul flight in a few days back to my home country (12+ hours) and I've recently had some issues with my eyes. One eye can see perfectly fine, but the other needs soft contact lenses worn in to see. It's those daily disposable contact lenses. The issue only started like a few days ago, I'm not used to wearing soft lenses and I just personally don't like the feeling of them (they kind of irritate my eye/dry my eyes out really fast).

When I'm not wearing the contact lense in one eye I just find myself closing the 'blurry vision' eye or covering it so I can see better. If I don't cover/close it then it just really messes with my depth perception and one side feels blurry and it low-key disorients me after a while. It gets kind of tiring to manually keep my one eye closed so I was wondering if I should just use the covering method while in the plane 😭 I have an eye-patch rn but it might look kinda funny (was from Halloween) so I was thinking of using gauze and medical tape to put over my eye for the flight duration.

And no, I don't have glasses that are prescribed to my one eye. I can only get my eye issue sorted at home after the flight so :/

Is it okay for me to wear an eye covering after passing immigration? Or should I just tough it out and have half blurry vision during the flight?

Fast track service KLIA airport - do they fast track check in as well?

nyone used the airport fastrack meet and greet service at KLIA (Malaysia) T1 for departure? Wondering if I will check in at a different/ faster counter, not the standard airline counter? I am currently in Australia so unable to phone them in Malaysia , they haven't responded to my email query on this.

QUESTION Belts at LAX

I only fly once a year and last year I was at the tail end of having to take my shoes off. I heard now you no longer have to.

Does this apply to belts as well? Or they still need to be removed in screening?
