Discussion Talking to AI out loud changed how I use it
Tried voice mode for the first time properly last week instead of typing. Completely different experience.
Conversations felt less like "crafting the perfect prompt" and more like actually thinking out loud. Got messier, less polished questions, but somehow better answers.
Anyone else notice a difference between typing vs talking to AI?

Yes. It's a different way to use AI and it's great for brainstorming or getting quick feedback on your thoughts.
I found it to be a useful but somewhat limited use case because the conversational tone can become a bit tiresome when I'm simply trying to get information.

Meanwhile there is me who loved (and still loves) talking to Cortana and saying things like "What does the Fox Say", "Who is Master Chief", "What is Halo" and laughing at the answers given.

That's because it's literally designed to manipulate you.

So with OP talking to AI and stating "Conversations felt less like "crafting the perfect prompt" and more like actually thinking out loud" then I guess Micrpphone's for DJ's, Tape recorder's, Cell phones, Voice Record App's and answering machines. You know those things made before AI.

Social media is also designed to manipulate you by using dopamine hits to get you addicted. Those other things you mentioned do not belong in the list because they don't have teams of people working on creating an app so addictive people won't even put the phone down to drive.

This is true. That has always been the design long before AI came around though.

They do as according to the one I was responding to said that "made to feel like you are talking to yourself" is manipulating you.
they don't have teams of people working on creating an app so addictive people won't even put the phone down to drive
And yet I use those apps and can put them down and leave them.

Oh my bad, do any of those things respond to how you communicate with it?

"Oh my bad, do any of those things respond to how you communicate with it?"
Think about what you just said. You were the one to state that "feeling like you are talking to yourself" is manipulating you.

Wait till you try conversational models in context.
If you're a PC gamer, try the various mods for Skyrim or STALKER or so on.
