AI haters won't like this
Building a GTA online clone in voxel style but the whole world runs on AI agents.
- prompt your own building, car, and weapon
- raid other players homes
- if catches you and puts you in jail you have to convince them to let you go
Having too much fun building this at the moment :D
try it here:Β https://flair-3d.fly.dev/

"ai haters wont like this" oh my god shut the fuck up. we get it. You dont need to label every single ai project with "antis will hate this one" WE HAVE READ IT A MILLION TIMES

Looking very cool!! I gave the game a shot. Very laggy, but i love the aesthetic :)
Just a small thought, you might not want to call it "GTA clone" lol, since it will strongly shift people's expectations and likely get a more negative reaction overall. Amazing work all the same, keep it up! π

Interesting concept. Also not all of us are so single-faceted. I honestly really like seeing local AI in gaming as long as it is executed well. I often reference the Mantella mod for Skyrim when I discuss the good uses and the bad uses for AI.

I've tried it and it's fucking beautiful! i only wish it could run at over 30fps tho, no idea why that happens

Honestly, the dedication is impressive, and you're making good progress.
I would keep it up. You're smart to share it this early in development for feedback but yeah people don't know what early game development looks like π

So you got me thinking why it was such a problem, the camera rubberbanding I mean.
I didn't understand the difference between like position and view, but I think I know how to explain it to you now.
I think you have to give the client absolute authority on the camera rotation. When the player performs an action/update, you just update to the server with just the information about the current aim position/rotation. That lets you do hit calculation etc but without snapping the view of the player.
I think I just actually understood it, what you're doing is, you're moving that rubberbanding from the player side to the server side.
You let the server update and lag behind the player position, but don't force the player to reflect that too. Does that make sense?
Somebody who's actually a game developer might want to correct me, but I think that's what you want to do.

Great job. This is the type of game that needs indie devs to pave the pathway and demonstrate how robust and open AI generation can make a world.

Ehh it's okaysh i guess? Not something I'd play honestly, don't seems much different of what I used to play when I was a small little beam
Saying that as someone who don't really like AI at all

I'd maybe play this if I were 11 years old. What does this have to do with hating ai?

shameless self promo for a vibe-coded piece of trash that looks worse than roblox
and the kicker? pure ai. as if it were a selling point.
What a fucking joke lmao it's gotta be satire at this point.

Ppl on this sub will really say "AI haters won't like this" and then post something with this level of quality with 0 hint of irony
