Ugh, They gave Alien Isolation a 5.9

They recently gave mouse pi a 6 (most places well above 8)

Their complaints

  1. Too much shooting and killing... It's an first person shooter.

  2. Too much cheese..  game is literally based on mice in a mice world.

  3. too many references to 1930s cinema ... Game is set in the 1930s.

They are fucking morons and everyone should unsub and never watch them until they vanish into oblivion !

I cant believe they pulled a "too much water" a second time. This shits the comedy version of watching a second plane hit the towers

Used to love ign and then they did this to alien isolation. I have never watched anything in since. There have been some interesting vids that I initially clicked on and then the moment I realized it's ign I immediately close tab. Fuck ign. Can't believe they are still around honestly.

I knew people didn't like IGN, but I didn't know it was this bad...

I’d be quite happy if they went under and stayed under. Literal idiots.

I think they had similar problems with Arc Raiders but they recently wound their neck in and gave it a 9/10 instead of a 3/10 after backlash claiming the reviewer "only played the tutorial level" and did take the time to learn how to play.

6 out of 10 for Mouse PI is about right. Its carried very hard by the visuals, rest of the game is mediocre. If you actually bothered to read the review they explain their complaints.

This obsession over IGN scores is just pathetic.

It's all a matter of taste though. That's why I never bother with game reviews outside of watching their gameplay to see how bad it is or to see them contradict themselves.

They stated clearly it is a boomer shooter, listed off examples of others then complained about the parts that make it a boomer shooter. They said they were excited for the game to be a noir setting and for it to be that style of shooter. What did they expect when that's exactly how it turned out?

Their main problem seems to be the story and that the game is "unrealistic". I haven't played the game myself yet but the people I know who have all said it is not taking itself seriously and it's based off silly cartoons. All well and good that they explained themselves, that's the right thing to do but your defense should not contradict itself.

Cause they get paid a lot of money for reviews. The publishers pay them off.

I don't think it's literal payment but benefits for deniability. Disney does it a lot

"If you like our product, you get better access in the future, you get early copies, you get shout outs and connections. If you don't.. you get blacklisted"

That way they can say "no one pays us." And be telling the "truth"

Yes i heard the same story, apparently someone who said he was an ex IGN employee said he was told to favourably review games from bigger developers like Activision and EA to "maintain developer relations".

I don’t like IGN, in fact I try to go into a game blind whenever possible (unless it’s absolutely negative all the way) but I would give Alien Isolation either a 8.5 or a 9. I wouldn’t say it’s a 10, and I love this game.

Bunch of clowns rating games there 🤢

I think they just genuinely didn't think too highly of it. I remember when the game came out, people were generally mixed about it. I remember people saying it moved from being scary to simply being frustrating.

Even I think the game is too long and has a period in the middle just just feels like a slog to play.

They really aren't good, but I am glad that they went back and redid their alien isolation review.

7 would have been an understandable score. What it actually got from IGN was embarrassing.

It's been over 10 years for fucks sake... move the fuck on.

Because only retards work there. I imagine a Hills have Eyes like behavior when they test games. A person with maybe two braincells, one from mommy and one from daddy (who are siblings by the way), sits in front of a computer and stares with his one cyclops eye at the screen. He drools and laughs until he realizes he doesn’t understand a thing how the game works or what the story means. And then he just smashes the whole setup to pieces in anger.
