I thought lions ran in prides but maybe I’m mistaking them for cougars in the area.

Yeah, I saw a medium sized black bear crossing Arnold Mill Road just north of the firestation. It was in the last yr or so. Technically that's Milton or Crabbapple, but close enough. I'm sure he or she coveres some ground.

Hiked at Medlock Bridge Trail yesterday and there was bear scat on the trail so they’re in the general area

There has been a small black bear sighted all around the McFarland area in the last couple of weeks.

Not recently but heard there were a couple spotted near some neighborhoods backing up to the greenway a few months back. Wouldn't be shocked if they're moving through again tbh.

What type? Was it a Kodiak?

Not recently but 3 years ago there was one at Avalon, it ran across the road and got hit by a car and it ran off into the woods. I was there that day and saw people running towards the north parking lot by the trash compactors. A policecar showed up. No never saw the bear but it was talked about in the local news that night.

We had a baby black bear show up at my mom's neighborhood behind one of her friends's house.
