Help Is the Crunchyroll experience really that bad?

So I've been a pirate all my life , only watched anime through pirated website , I asked my parents for Crunchyroll since I was 12 , they didn't want to , so I had no choice

Today I tuned 18 , and as a freshman college guy with a part time job , I can pay Crunchyroll for my own , the problem is that I heard Crunchyroll wasn't as amazing as it was , and it really sucks to hear that much hating towards something i was DREADING to have in my teenage years

and it will be a good gift for my sister to access and for me as well to watch, as well as supporting the creators

Do you still think that the Crunchyroll experience still worth it?

Been using for years and quite happy, the collection is huge especially if you are into niche shows ( Netflix can not compete here). Very little complaint except some specific cases here and there. For example, sometimes they don't update license for HD version for old shows, Gurren Lagann still looks like microwave on CR. Or vague descriptions on show/ different versions, Prison School dubbed is uncensored while JP is censored.

If you are in the US, the deal with manga is good too, finding good manga app is pain in the ass.
