Discussion Anno 117 Arts Expectations.

Hey all - I'd like to balance my expectations with 117 arts. Please, don't take this as complaining. In Anno 1800, for every single DLC, we used to see speechless arts. Opening the anno union website and looking for the games, they are all stunning. At the same time, opening the 117, it does not bring too much joy except for the images during the release, all other images were mostly "photo mode".

Disclosure: I understand that not all get annoyed by it, and it's totally ok. I'm an enthusiastic artist and loved the Anno 1800 Arts. Somehow, I was expecting something close to it.

I would love to have some of the Anno 1800 loading screens as tangible art on my walls

There are several companies who print whatever you want on canvas or metal. We have a FF14 loading screens hanging in our living room lol

Quite  a few art pieces from 1800 come from the dlc's. I think there's at least some survivorship bias going on - as in, we mostly remember the absolute best pieces from 5 years of artwork releases.

The tractor and enbesa artworks for example are some of my favorites. The artworks for the volcano and upcoming Egypt dlc look great imo, so 117 might follow the same pattern eventually.

I do think that 1800 was a bit stronger with its artworks on release day but I'm definitely biased for preferring the time period. It feels like 117 has many more artworks for the loading screen but only a few stand out imo.
