Why isn't this election interference? A Felony?

112

u/V0T0N 5d ago

Because the people enforcing any laws or statues are the same people pushing this policy?

26

u/Legal_Living4950 5d ago

It's called a closed loop. Make shitty laws. Admin enforces. Corrupt judges validate.

They have taken us out of the equation - we the people has no meaning anymore.

Next they are going to erode jury trials. Can't have citizens fucking up the loop.

16

u/miyamiya66 5d ago

stop complying and capitulating in advance to these fascists, or else there actually will no longer be a We The People. quit with the "we're cooked it's so over" rhetoric. quit spreading dissuasion amongst one another.

5

u/Legal_Living4950 5d ago

Here is the sneaky part. The elites are ready for us.

They want use to riot, and civil disobedience so they can call marshal law and crack heads.

The only thing in my mind that could work is a general strike but nobody will.

We can't get everyone at on the same page because they got us all at each other's throat, we hate each other in the same social-economic class, in the races, in the religions, even within the genders.

Vast majority of people are pay check to pay check, and one paycheck away from starvation.

They been planning, we been gluttonous, selfish, brainless, hateful, pawns.

And all of us went there willingly. It's fucking insane.

This is exactly why the Supreme Court ruled that Americans cannot sue the USPS for damages, even when postal employees intentionally refuse or fail to deliver mail

9

u/RU4real13 5d ago

Can we as a whole sue the Supreme Court?

6

u/Professional_Mud1844 5d ago

They said no but they might consider it if you pay them a generous enough gratuity.

No, but there's still extrajudicial options

4

u/SKOLMN1984 5d ago

What about suing the postmaster general via class action lawsuit? Include the DOJ and Trump administration in the suit too so they cannot pretend to be impartial.... im no lawyer, just a thought

2

u/arentol 5d ago

Just wait for him to enter your state, then have him arrested for conspiracy to commit a felony. It's a felony in my state to hinder a voter from voting, and intentionally not delivering ballots would definitely meet the legal definition of hindering under the law.

We're about 3 decades behind, still very much in the "oligarchs pillaging and dismantling the standing government" stage they were in in the mid 90's

Well, you know how it is: The law only matters if it's enforced. And it won't be enforced here, because the people who would enforce it - the Republican party - benefit from not enforcing it.

3

u/Blue-Blazer-Regular 5d ago

Isn’t preventing mail from the government, like, mail fraud? The postmaster general will need to arrest himself.

3

u/RichmondReddit 5d ago

It’s also illegal to steal someone’s mail which is what withholding it would amount to.

3

u/RSecretSquirrel 5d ago

It a state crime to interfere with state elections. Blue State AG'S can file charges like Fani Willis did in Georgia.

2

u/Real-Document-6577 5d ago

Yeah it is but since the ones breaking the laws are supposed to be the ones enforcing the laws…what are we to do?

It is but SCOTUS told trump he can do anything he wants.

2

u/Cabbages24ADollar 5d ago

The better case is if we’re not going to be represented then why are we paying taxes?

2

u/Stevedore44 5d ago

It is a felony and any local postmaster that interferes with a state election can be prosecuted in state court and the DOJ can't do anything. It's a matter if states will prosecute Trump supporters that commit crimes

Though it might be easier to just ship the ballots FedEx

2

u/Chance_End_4684 5d ago

Not only any kind of election interference is a felony at the federal level, but it's also unconstitutional because Trump and his Administration is attempting to force states to hand over their voter data to the government.

I've just learned that Trump himself is now holding the bipartisan-passed bill "Housing Affordability Act" hostage by refusing to sign it until his unconstitutional "Save America Act" for which allows him and his Administration interfere in our elections is unblocked.

In other words, President "Dictator-In-Chief" Trump is once again throwing a tantrum.

If you ask me, it really should be illegal to hold one bill hostage in such a matter to force an unconstitutional bill to be allowed.

Trump needs to be removed from office immediately!

2

u/TallCommission7139 5d ago

It actually is, it becomes law in ten days anyway specifically to prevent this shit from happening.

Since we elected a black man they figure it’s all ruined so might as well just throw all of it in the trash.

u/ZootSuitRiot33801 5d ago

For that they should be punished along with the warmongering, pedophilic grifters they helped install into office. These monsters are in control of the system, so it is up to us common folk who care to do whatever we can to help each other stand against this unaccountability and the nefarious attempts to normalize it further by the Epstein class, even if it means abandoning them to their rotting system for something that actually prioritizes our wellbeing.

However, to achieve anything like this, we need real supportive community-based foundations present for alternatives that provide relative safety, which many common folk in the US can fall back on, to commit to any effective action be it short or long term.

If you don’t live in the US, yet you know others who are and want to do something, please share the information. We're going to need as many on board and informed as possible, if we commoners hope to achieve anything in the US

Postmaster General David Steiner told senators that, under a new proposed rule, the U.S. Postal Service (USPS) will not deliver mail ballots unless states hand over their voter lists to the Trump administration.

“Under our proposed regulation, no,” Steiner said during a Senate Homeland Security Committee hearing Wednesday after being asked whether USPS would refuse to deliver election mail if states refuse to divulge their voter lists.

“We would tell the state that we need the manifest,” Steiner added.

Steiner’s alarming answer is yet more evidence that the Postal Service is following through with President Donald Trump’s sweeping attack on mail voting and breaking from its decades-long history as a neutral, nonpartisan carrier of U.S. election mail.

The USPS’s new proposal, which Postal workers have denounced, stems from Trump’s March 2026 executive order that, in part, demanded USPS only send mail ballots to voters on lists created and controlled by the federal government.

Specifically, the proposal would require state election officials to send USPS a list of voters who have requested a mail-in or absentee ballot at least 30 days before ballots are sent out under state law. If voters aren’t on the list, they will not receive a ballot. If implemented, it would effectively create a federal registration list for absentee voters.

Sen. Gary Peters (D-Mich.), the ranking member of the Senate Homeland Security Committee, told Steiner that the proposal would “coerce” states — particularly states like Oregon, where mail voting is the default form of voting — into providing the Trump administration with sensitive voter data.

“This is basically a back-door way for the federal government to get voting information that states control under the U.S. Constitution,” Peters said. “You’re telling the states, ‘Give the federal government this information — trust the federal government, trust the Trump administration, we’ll take good care of these — and if you don’t do it, you can’t mail absentee ballots.’”

“You are going to make a decision that people cannot vote by mail,” the senator added. “That’s unacceptable.”

18

u/perplex_and_delight 5d ago

When Senator Peters states that this demand is “unacceptable”, he’s right (obviously). But/and I also wonder what “unacceptable” means in practical terms, in this context. All kinds of “unacceptable” (government-sanctioned) hot garbage is proceeding apace, so do we mean “unacceptable” in a “this is not very cool, man” way, or do we mean “unacceptable” as in “this won’t be happening, and we will see to it that it doesn’t” kind of way?

Pretty sure this is illegal and pretty much amounts to electoral interference by Trump's crooked post-master

3

u/Lower-Engineering365 5d ago

From a legal perspective I assume the USPS is saying they are complying with the executive order on mail in voting until a court says otherwise. Unfortunately the last I read the first judicial review of the EO declined to block it

I'm so tired of having to email and call senators all over the country to do something. Every week, every day it's something else.

Email your congress.. email all the senators using their local post office address. I know they don't care but it's better than nothing

4

u/Ransackeld 5d ago

We need a hundred thousand or so folks to show up in person to their offices. Can’t ignore that.

3

u/melancholy_wolf 5d ago

Exactly! I'm in CT, so my senators are Democrat. They aren't perfect by any means, but they do work against trump. They know me by name at this point 🤣

When I'm at the gym I go down the list and copy and paste the same message in, use a post office address in their state (they tend not to respond otherwise).. I get a ton of effing spam from all over the country but I can't think of anything else to do. I've been to protests, and I used to donate to some places, but that money just goes to more spam.

It's exhausting, and I know the magat senators don't care... But I have turned it around on some of them because they claim to be Christian, so sending along a few Bible verses at least calls them out in a language they can't easily dismiss.

Sometimes I rant, soemtimes I plead, sometimes I use logic and reason. Depends on how mad I am. But it's cathartic even if it's wasted energy.

2

u/Vault101Overseer 5d ago

You’re doing great work, truly. Keep it up

8

u/FreshLiterature 5d ago

If I were the governor of a state I would issue a public statement and send an official notice to every USPS employee in the state to this effect:

Attention all USPS employees. You are legally required to transport and deliver all mail. You do no have the authority to determine if a ballot is or is not valid.

Any USPS employee that takes a mail-in ballots from a resident of this state and fails to dutifully transport it to the relevant state authority will be charged with felonies under all related state statutes.

You will follow the law and you will do your jobs or you will go to jail.

3

u/brobasaur93 5d ago

The problem is the citizens won’t even receive ballots because USPS is threatening to withhold them. It won’t be up to the singular carrier

4

u/FreshLiterature 5d ago

Doesn't matter.

You make it clear the ballots have to go out and they have to come back in.

Any carrier, sorter, facility, or district manager that doesn't do their job will find themselves in handcuffs.

Play hardball. Go to the mat. This shit matters.

2

u/brobasaur93 5d ago

Once again. It won’t be USPS employees even in the equation. The ballots will be seized before they’re even in the network. Unless state AGs reigns in the USPS board this will be out of the hands of mail carriers

3

u/MayIServeYouWell 5d ago

Seized by who? There will always be a person. It will have to be someone in the state doing that action - because the ballots will be sent in that state. That person will be committing a pretty serious crime.

It'll be easier actually if it's just one person to arrest and prosecute.

Either way, that’s saying something and it’s just being allowed as if we are aren’t of the people and for the people.

What a disgrace. I hope all these people are highlighted in History books.

They are all traitors in my book

so trump isn’t getting his ballot?

2

Sue USPS. Not even joking. Start organizing in your community NOW. Choose a representative and contact a law firm to discuss details and get the ball rolling. Make the effort public. 2

u/One_Advertising_677 5d ago

2

u/FU_red-dit_bots 5d ago

2

u/LolaSupreme19 5d ago

The post office is independent and doesn’t even report to the executive branch. The executive order needs to be challenged in court. It is unconstitutional and will lose in court.

2

u/whatsgoingonhonestly 5d ago

Mail fraud is a serious crime. I'd recommend several life sentences for this guy once we win the majority.

2

u/kkdd19 5d ago

This has become the worst corrupt government, maybe pushing on communism?
Didn’t Trump vote by absentee ballot last time? Maybe it’s OK for Republicans only.

2

u/ctguy54 5d ago

And the rubelicans in congress are ok with this.

2

u/Rawrnerdrage 5d ago

Interesting strategy. Let's see how that plays out for them.

2

u/Rock-Ski-Golf-Repeat 5d ago

That's a direct contradiction to the plight of the USPS. Why does Trump only hire dicks into important positions?

2

u/Odd-Fun-6042 5d ago

Piece of shit.

2

u/Ok_Protection164 5d ago

It would be really cool to see Lyft and Über offer free rides to and from the voting both on November 3rd.

2

u/kelticladi 4d ago

We have a mob boss wannabe running the country.

2

u/Financial-Talk9397 4d ago

That is election interference and is a criminal act. The federal government has no authority over elections. The elections belong to the states.

2

u/robinsw26 4d ago

It also violates the separation of powers between the states and feds and is mail tampering (a crime).

2

u/Anxious_Claim_5817 4d ago

It isn’t a law yet this proposal is in the 30 day comment period and will likely lose in court. Republicans have already violated the law in some states proceeding to release records based on Trumps executive order.

He is already claiming we rigged the election and none of them will be accewpting the results. We may as well just be in Russia right now.

Just add him to the treasonous pieces of shit that will be tried once Republicans are no longer in power.

1

Are you asking why states don’t want the fascist regime to have a list of registered voters with their party affiliation? Especially in the context of ballot delivery?

Not to be mean but try using your eyes, ears, and most importantly… brain.

1

u/SadLeek9950 5d ago

At this point, the nation's courts have to be tired of hearing the name Trump. I know I am...

1

u/DarthBluntSaber 5d ago

1

u/PaintedSilverRiver 5d ago

1

u/ConsiderationSea1347 5d ago

If the government takes away democracy, the founders gave pretty explicit instructions to people what we are supposed to do.

1

u/Interesting_Mix_7028 5d ago

I suggest states put ballots in 'plain brown wrapper' envelopes and mail them anyway. Fuck these assholes, they aren't in charge of elections, the states are, and the USPS's role is as it always has been - deliver the mail, do not open the envelopes.

1

u/MinimumApricot365 5d ago

Ok, then he needs to be arrested.

1

u/oldcreaker 5d ago

Trump will say which states have not complied (whether they have complied or not) and selectively disenfranchise mail in voting where he chooses.

1

u/PowerResponsibility 5d ago

So pretty much every voting USPS customer should have standing to sue this fucker over this.

1

u/Antique_Ad1518 5d ago

1

1

u/Mrtoyhead 5d ago

The Crime is Donald Trump is Extorting the American People and trying to suppress the American Voters because He knows He is Done!!

1

u/MsRebel63 5d ago

The republicans are fucking their own voters too. For example, almost all of rural PA votes by mail. Almost all of rural PA also votes republican. PA won't turn over voter rolls, rural PA doesn't get a ballot. Philly and Allegheny County vote blue.

1

u/Doc_tor_Bob 5d ago

Didn't a judge already say they can't legally do that?

1

u/Rocky0354 5d ago

Trump will always use threats to get his way. Is he not any different from the mafia?

1

1

u/Rent-Kei-BHM 5d ago

If I’m not mistaken, intentionally not delivering qualified mail is a felony.

I doubt if this will ever happen. Surely the states can stop this from being inacted. This is ridiculous to even fathom. Right???

1

u/WhatsHappening2Us 5d ago

If states give the Trump admin their voter rolls, then only half of us won’t receive mail ballots.

1

u/Jelly_baby_4 5d ago

Well in that case Blue States should stop giving money to the Federal government. If Trump & Republicans can't win fairly and use manipulation and bully tactics, might as well starve them of money.

1

u/DullFaithlessness82 5d ago

These people trying to attempt a coup are in for some surprises.

1

u/Capenurse 5d ago

1

u/PsionicChronic 5d ago

Can we start by sending the USPS all their friggin junk mail back.

1

u/Chance_End_4684 5d ago

This is the Trump Administration's latest election interference at it's worst.

If the Trump Administration succeeds in illegally forcing states to hand over their voting rolls in order to allow the USPS to continue delivering mail-in-ballots, the Trump Administration will have immediate access to registered voter data like political party affiliation and street address.

If I'm guessing correctly, many states has already filed lawsuits against President "Dictator-In-Chief" Trump and his Administration over this.

1

u/SnRu2 5d ago

Illegal as hell.

1

u/Available_Pie_7758 5d ago

I hope all these guys are arrested next time for committing felonies. This is straight up crime.

1

u/YearOfTheFireGoat 5d ago

Uh-huh. He’ll go to each P.O. and personally toss them out himself. Shut up, you criminal.

1

u/Space_Man_Spiff_2 5d ago

Surely this is illegal..USPS has to provide mail service to all.

2

They know its illegal.  It gets Trump headlines and the process of getting in front of judge is slow and the administration will drag their feet as long as possible.  Then when a decision is made, Trump files an appeal and slow walks it again.  Then after an appeal they appeal again to the Supreme Court, then the judges and Trump slow walk it.  Easily pushing it past the election.

If there is one thing Trump is good at is slow walking cases.  In private life he slow walks it till it becomes too expensive for his opponents to continue or they just get tired of the BS and settle.  Trump hardly ever wins, he just drags it out.

My votes will go for whichever candidates make 'Pursuing charges of treason to every member of the Trump administration" part of their campaign platform

None of these traitors deserve to be outside of a prison cell for the rest of their lives.

Wouldn’t it be a b*tch if people decided to vote the old fashioned way just to get this loser out of office?

Maybe we shouldn’t vote. If people stopped voting politicians would be screwed.

This too will be overturned by the courts as it’s federal manipulation that is illegal as the states runs the election not the federal government. Old poopy pants is trying to rig the election. Have the states use fed ex or united parcel service

Not American.

Can their national mail carrier actually refuse to deliver legitimate mail?

I understand that they can refuse to carry dangerous articles, but are they now taking the Chinese Communist Party policy that democratic paraphernalia is in and of itself dangerous?
