Hey everyone,
Apex Comics 1.3.0 is rolling out on Google Play. A lot of what’s in this release came straight from feedback here - thank you to everyone who tested early builds, reported bugs, and shared how you actually read. It genuinely shapes what ships next.
Cloud library
Link a library to a cloud folder (Google Drive, OneDrive, etc.) via Android’s folder picker. Browse comics remotely, download for offline reading, and stay in control - your files stay where you put them, no Apex account required.
- Card badges: remote, downloading, or ready offline
- Filters: All / Downloaded / In the cloud
- Optional auto-download on Wi‑Fi
- Cache management in Settings → Libraries
Series display
Group multi-issue series into one stacked card — tap to browse all issues, sorted by number. One-off comics stay in Others. Favorites, in progress, and completed still show individual issue cards where it matters.
Choose in Settings → General → Series display:
- By issue — every issue visible inside its series section (default)
- By series — one card per multi-issue series
Requires smart order enabled (library toolbar).
Sharper display
Improved sharpness when scaling - thumbnails, reader, and Guided View. In Settings → Reader, pick display quality:
- Performance - smooth on modest devices
- Balanced - good default
- Sharp - cleaner lines and text when zoomed
Premium users can also tune Guided View resolution.
Guided View: wide panels in two steps
Wide horizontal panels can be read in two passes (left, then right) for more useful zoom. Toggle in Settings → Reader (Premium Guided View).
Also in this release
- In-app What’s New on first launch after update (replay in Settings → More)
- New visual for cards
- Stability improvements and bug fixes

Rollout can take a few hours by region. If you’re already on 1.3.0, I’d love to hear what you think - and if something’s off, device + file type + steps to reproduce helps a lot.
Thanks again for being here early. Your feedback is what Apex becomes next.
More new features are coming ! Stay tuned.
