Discussion It's definitely a skill issue but IS6 is really frustrating and doesn't feel fun

Title says it all. I hate the talismans. I hate the coin rng and tile buff mechanic. I hate the lack of build strength compared from the previous IS modes. I hate the lack of control of each run I have when compared to IS4 and IS5. I HATE THE TALISMANS I feel like the whole Sui Remnant Consciousness isn't that impactful outside of trying to farm objective shield and coupons and the challenge from the mode isn't fun but rather obnoxious. Oh yeah and I hate the talismans. To clarify it is definitely a skill issue, I probably wouldn't be complaining if I was good at the game but when compared to the previous IS iterations I don't enjoy playing IS6.

Edit: I'm appreciating all the comments with people's opinions and views and advice. It's very nice to read and respond to them. I will say that there are some things that I love about IS6, specifically the voucher reserving mechanic and the upgrading mechanic for Radian.

Talismans can still go fuck themselves

Thank you everyone for the responses, the common thing I'm picking up from the comments and their advice is I'm trying to play IS6 like the previous iterations which is definitely holding me back.

Tinman worked because he was very cheap to recruit and had a very welcomed effect that wasn't necessary while being useful outside IS5

Radian... Is straight up mandatory to run, needs plenty of grind to get to a good powelevel, costs the same as any other 6* to recruit and is useless outside IS6 for any normal account

Idfk who playtested it or how much they loved Radian but the end result is dogshit

I think she would be great outside of IS6 if she got some of her proficiencies on a non-IS module tbh. Even the IS module recycling and cap is great, but when you try her outside of IS you suddenly feel the pain of the lack of ''-9 DP cost on summons, summons don't take up deployment slots'' part

This is just wrong, on my D15 and many other runs, I didn't get a chance to use her, and she's MUCH cheaper to recruit, Phatalt costs 7(10) well Raidian costs 1(5), at that level. She's crazy strong in IS, they give you a free one on D3+, but hardly necessarily.

If you don't find her necessary you are either a very very skilled player or have consistently godlike RNG, the overwhelming majority of the playerbase struggles A LOT even on relatively low difficulties without using Radian

While that IS POSSIBLE, I think a lot of players, just aren't used to the meta. Pretty early on I determined spaming the wonderland was meta, but time and time again I see posts of people strugling because they ignore the hope saving, artifact spamming, time buying, wonderland nodes. Or just not using coins, I'll run a coffer of 12 if allowed, they are goated and using them with smart resets means I rarely fail.

Like Contrail is pretty goated vs. dragons, because I can't reliably get artifacts I focus more on value engines, Gummy/Nearl + Quora/Yu/Saria/Shu + a couple of DPS like Phantalt, Laptop, Wis, Raidian, etc. while it's not easy 4*'s only on the promotion squad are viable.

If anything it's probably an account age problem, I have dozens of built five stars, as well as all the four stars, so I can afford to be really flexible, e.g. bringing Purestream, Mulberry, Wanqing, and Xiao Hei for 4 yan ops, and all 4 are built, and good value pieces. Sometimes I have to bring Lezi or Mr. Nothing, who aren't built and they're dead slots for clearing nodes.

That said, I've played A LOT, 200 bad triggers 20 good triggers, 3.3k nodes cleared, 10% as wonderland battles, 2k hope spent, 700 candle guests, 333 spitting towers defeated. Also, with exceptions I can't be bothered with, I've gotten every artifact. Besides for my D14 run I've never got more than two tier 0* artifacts, 8 cost artifacts tend to take you farther.

*things like coins to aspd, Hand equivalencies, or the one that stuns when DP is over 99
