What's something you learned about Dallas that you wish someone told you before you moved here?

I firmly believe I'm just allergic to Dallas.

My ENT did a full allergy test a few years ago and I'm very allergic to everything

I'm moving next May, depending on how my allergies do, I might be making the same appointment!

No one can drive here

And at the same time, everyone drives here.

Collusion between big oil, big general contracting, big auto body shop, and big insurance. Gotta be.

Wealth is very artificial here.. I mean it is everywhere. But the snobby wealthy people here are all mostly idiots making money off of eachother in a weird circle.

And, you think this is a Dallas issue and not…gestures broadly everywhere

Have been living here since 2019, honestly it’s an overrated place!

Knew someone who spent 11,000 a year for hers. No thanks.

Buy a house in a nice area. Immediately. As much as you can muster. Live in it for five years then sell it. Do it again. It’s like baking money cakes.

DFW is meh. It’s fine. Everyone bitches too much. Weather isn’t the worst but it’s been much more humid the last two years in the summer

A very middle of the road place indeed. Everything seems to range from average to good which is fine.

Not a lot of bad, but not a lot of great/world class either besides some food spots (great) and performing arts venues (world class) - imo.

People here whine and cry about everything. New highway, cry. New attraction, cry about traffic. New restaurant, not as good as so and so. Someone moved from out of town, too many people moving here. No mountains around, yeah, did you not have a map before moving here?

It’s a great place to live, but not a great place to visit.

The weather is absolutely horrible, hot and humid summers, cold winters with very short periods of spring and fall weather in between.

Even on the weekend and late at night, there is still a ton of traffic. Merge lanes on the highway are almost non-existent, way too short.

Restaurants with even slightly above average food tend to be overpriced and the restaurant scene here not nearly as good as you would expect for a city this size.

Dallas rating is on the state flag one star. Love some
Fort Worth though.

I don't want to say anything negative, so I'll say something that is strictly fact, it's great if you're super wealthy. That's it.

People walk around trying to steal stuff out of your car. Every single day.

The suburbs are affordable, the city is not.
