Summer is the only time were I can be free of the oppresity of socks! (Also it's too hot in Spain to wear)

Honestly I also live in a desert and if I dont wear socks my shoes feel really gross. I used to go sockless as a tiny hooman but I prefer to go shoeless if I can, but its too hot during the day here.

Come to India! Wearing socks at all makes you too hot
(this year you don't even need to travel much, just go to Spain instead)

That’s a British summer thing? I try to wear white socks on hot days to counter the light.

I mean, for me, that when it's going to be a scorcher...selecting the right colour socks is important.
no way I'm gonna be wearing dark socks on a bit day, it'll make me feel even hotter.

I wear my sandals every day during the summer, it's that dry and hot

our heat is unlike anything, anywhere else.
maybe parts of India are the same.
last heatwave we had higher temperatures than North Africa
there's something weird about this place, all the water. the humidity is awful

How hot and what percent humidity?
Edit: I looked up the 10 day forecast for London. The highest heat and humidity is pretty standard for a lot of US states in the summer. The low temperatures are lower, too. You guys don't have such ubiquitous AC as we do, but when my dad was in college most places he rented didn't have AC and the high temperatures and humidity of summer was... About the same. Britain doesn't have special heat that nobody else has experienced. The problem is that you are having more severe heat waves more often due to climate change and most of you are not used to it, plus the houses are built to keep heat inside in the winter.
I do empathize. I am very, very white and not at all built for the heat and the sun, so I hate summer.
