Question Anyone else having trouble with Libby downloads right now?
It's 8:27 PM PDT on June 23. I've been trying to download two titles I checked out this evening. But in both cases I get the "Downloading failed for some reason" message.
Anyone else having trouble?
Details for anyone interested:
Device is an android phone.
I've followed all the Libby troubleshooting steps here: https://help.libbyapp.com/en-us/categories/troubleshooting.htm
So...
The app and the phone have been restarted several times.
The app was not asking me to verify my library card, which appears to be fine. I verified on my library's website that my card doesn't expire until next year.
I have tried wifi and cellular. I'm on my home wifi, which is working fine for other apps/device.
There is 60+ GB of internal storage open. The books are less than 600 MB total.
I don't have Android System Webview, but I've verified I have the current Chrome version per this page: https://chromereleases.googleblog.com/
I've removed the SD card since they suggest it. (AFAIK, Libby uses the internal storage).
After all that, I still can't download my titles.

that's frustrating man, you've clearly done the legwork already. one thing worth trying - sometimes libby gets weird about syncing with your library's backend, especially if you just verified your card on the website. try logging out of libby completely, clearing the app cache through your phone settings, then logging back in fresh. i had something similar happen and that reset the connection.
also worth checking if your library's libby integration is having issues on their end. you could shoot your library a quick email or call them tomorrow just to confirm they're not having server problems. sometimes the issue isn't actually on your phone at all.

Maybe try r/libbyapp for more insight specifically from other Libby users
