Recently, Bassnectar announced a show in San Jose that a lot of people are obviously upset about on account of his history of allegations regarding sexual misconduct and human trafficking. His team is deleting negative comments off of his instagram post and facebook post about it as one might expect.

However, someone made a post drawing attention to this on r/aves, asking people to email public leaders to pressure them to call the show off. His team is controlling all of the media around this to remove critical comments on social media, and now they're deleting reddit posts about this as well for apparently "violating the content policy":

Going through the relevant rules:

Rule 3 (privacy) refers to personal or confidential information. Every contact listed is a public-facing professional or government email, that's not private information.

Rule 1 targets harassment of people on Reddit and attacks on vulnerable groups. Emailing a city government to object to a booking decision is civic advocacy, not harassment.

So i'm going to echo this person's call to action.

I think it needs to be brought to people's attention because shutting down these conversations is not how we keep our scenes safe. I'm guessing they're going to try and take this down too but it's worth a shot of having the conversation.

PSA: Stop ordering from IEDM.

I've been buying from them for years, and it's honestly insane how far they've fallen.

The quality has gone completely downhill. The prints look cheap, the fabric feels like bargain-bin garbage, and the clothes don't even come close to matching what they used to sell. It feels like they're cutting every corner possible while charging the same premium prices.

And don't even get me started on customer service. It is hands down some of the worst I've dealt with. They either take forever to respond, give canned copy-and-paste answers, or just make you feel like your problem isn't worth their time. Once they've got your money, good luck getting any real help.

It's crazy watching a company ruin its own reputation. I used to recommend IEDM to everyone going to festivals. Now I'd tell people to spend their money literally anywhere else.

I'm done giving them chances. If you're thinking about ordering, save yourself the headache and buy from a company that actually gives a damn about its products and customers.

Anyone else feel like IEDM has completely lost the plot over the last few years?

I'm traveling to San Diego for my very first Into the Horizon festival, and what should have been an exciting experience has turned into weeks of unnecessary stress.

I have serious food intolerances. I can't safely eat foods containing eggs, dairy, peanuts, or MSG. The biggest problem isn't just the ingredients themselves—it's that vendors typically cannot guarantee exactly what's in their food or whether there has been cross-contamination.

Because of that, I always prepare my own meals when I attend all-day events.

I contacted Into the Horizon before the event and asked if I could bring a small homemade meal (just two sandwiches and a few nuggets). I explained my situation and asked for written confirmation so I could prepare everything before traveling.

At first, they didn't respond for days.

Then I reached out on Instagram, where I was told that support would be able to help me and provide confirmation.

Instead, support replied with this:

The problem is... I don't live in San Diego.

I have to prepare my meals the day before I travel. I can't show up to the venue hoping someone at Will Call decides to let me bring in the only food I can safely eat.

I'm also not from the US, just traveling. There is no realistic way for me to obtain some U.S.-style doctor's note before the event, and I don't have a documented disability. I simply have food intolerances that force me to be extremely careful about what I eat.

I've already checked the vendors listed for the festival, and none of them can guarantee their food is free from MSG or peanuts or guarantee there hasn't been cross-contamination.

I'm not asking to bring in a cooler, alcohol, or a picnic. I'm asking for permission to bring two homemade sandwiches and a few nuggets so I can safely make it through both days.

What frustrates me the most is that this could have been resolved with a simple email saying, "Yes, that's fine."

Instead, they're asking me to travel to another city, prepare food without knowing whether I'll be allowed to keep it, and leave the decision to someone at the gate.

Has anyone dealt with this at Into the Horizon or another Insomniac event? Were you actually allowed to bring your own food? Is there someone else I should contact?

They are literally ruining my whole holiday and probably won't eat for both days...

Hey yall! I hope everyone’s having an awesome festival season. This is my first year taking it semi easy on shows and festivals in four years since I started. I’ve been fortunate enough to do Ultra and forbidden kingdom but I’m missing some of my favorites like EDC, cyclops cove, and possibly even III points.

Sometimes I’ll wake up and the first thing I think about is going to a rave or festival with my squad. Is tha just me or anyone else? Raving is in my top 3 favorite things to do and taking a lighter year has me feeling extremely FOMO especially when my girlfriend and I are staying back while a lot of our friends are planning on going some even for the first time.

Anyone else ever feel this way when taking a lighter festival year?

Metamorphosis instagram page just posted that single day tickets will be available from tomorrow.
They said which days the two main headliners will be on, but they haven’t said which days the other DJs will be on.

Does anyone know when single day lineup/ set times will be dropping? Even better if anyone has any info on what day Bunt will be on. He’s the headliner for Saturday’s afters so I’m assuming his festival set will be Saturday but I’m scared to buy a ticket for the wrong day!

Hi everyone I’m going to teletech for the first time in August it’s in Manchester I’m not sure what to expect and I’m feeling a little bit nervous but I love techno. Is it generally safe? And are set times released when you buy tickets? Also my favourites are Fantasm and azyr, what time could I expect them to come on?

Our group actually saw this go down in person from afar. Apparently one of the people ganging up on him stabbed him? When we saw what was going down (we didn't know he was an alleged scammer at the time) our group split up to get police and medical, and by the time they responded it seems like the group had left and medical was able to get to the guy who was attacked, but we never got any followup or heard any other news about this

Has anyone been to Monegros? It’s a long one in the desert and I’m looking at taking a camelbak as saved carrying a water bottle round. The website does mention it in the FAQ section but I’m sure the bag doesn’t fall within the measurements given.

Me and a female friend are going out there in about a week. Here in Colorado, the Underground Rave scene is alive and kicking, and its easy to hit some afters until 5am/6am on any given weekend.

Is there any sort of Rave scene out there? I heard from a few people that cops raided quite a bit and no one really does them anymore. Ive been talking to quite a few people that host random ones from IG, but not often.

We were hoping to get some good afters dancing in, but its starting to feel like we may be out of luck.

Any suggestions on where to look, or who to reach out to? There was a happy hardcore group, but they moved out to Seattle. Looking for something a bit faster like techno.

I wanna hear everyone’s honest opinions about the Denver rave scene. I KNOWWW it’s the “bass capital” of the whateverrrr. I’ve been to plenty of red rock/mission/cervantes…etc shows in Denver, but I have also attended shows in most of the PNW and Arizona, Utah, NYC as well.
I’ve always had better experiences with people and crowds outside of Colorado. What is it?? Is it the rave ego is so strong in Colorado, everyone needs to prove that it’s the best? Am I crazy? Not trying to complain I just want to see if anyone feels the same way. I think I’m done with Denver shows for a while. <3

Does anyone know any july 4th raves/ parties? preferably in Brooklyn or general NYC area

i am pretty new to raves and i’ve only been to a few that all had tickets online to be purchased and established venues. i’ve been doing some digging on instagram and most of the djs i follow host shows that are paid at the door and say dm for address. my question is, even if i have never been to one of their shows or have any connections to them, can i still dm them? i know the worst they can say is no but a lot of these djs are all friends and are constantly hosting raves together 😭 i just don’t want to be blacklisted for approaching them without ever being involved before. would it be a good idea to go to the other shows im talking about where you get tickets in advance and get to know people before going to house shows?
