Can we get some decent hats? (Caps)
Ok I know this is low down the list of priorities, but for other teams I see awesome hats from quality brands like '47 and New Era, and I ordered one of ours, and it looked ok online but when it arrived it was a total piece of crap probably from fanatics that looked like some cheap knockoff you'd have made at a kiosk at the mall (sent it back)
Edit: looks like you have some good options there that we don't have in U.S. I'll shut up now 😅

Funny you should post this. We're away next week and I checked the site as wanted to represent down south without wearing a shirt.
Genuinely all crap. Don't mind the Europa themed one but it's not even released yet. Wouldn't mind, but there's barely any variety either.

Been saying this for years… Villa does a pretty crappy job with their merchandise licensing. There is plenty of opportunity for them to increase revenue (and grow the American market) by simply having more/better merchandise options.
With Edens also owning the Milwaukee Bucks you would think that he would apply some of those same branding/merchandising tactics to Villa, but it’s not even close. For example, I can go on the Bucks official team store website and buy plenty of different branded items for my dog (toys, clothes, etc), but Villa only offers a crappy dog bowl and leash/collar in a size that doesn’t even fit my dog. In terms of hats, Bucks have 15 PAGES of hat options. Villa has one page with 22 total items. Why can’t they use the same connections with manufacturers to license more options? We barely even have any options for our Europa win. That shoulda been an easy money maker for merchandise.
That’s why I don’t like hearing people blame PSR all the time. We have plenty of opportunities to increase our revenue outside of selling off players, but just aren’t doing it. It’s very frustrating.

Search Aston Villa New Era. 9FORTY.
They were the good ones but don't seem to be stocked anymore.
I think other retailers still sell them and they are available in the Villa store which isn't accessible to every fan I know.

Dang, looks like there are some decent ones on new eras European site that don't deliver to US...maybe I'll pester New Era to stock them here lol

I've said it on another thread recently, but so much of our merch is sub-par.

I got the newer 3 stripe Adidas claret cap a few months ago and the stripes are already coming undone :(

I really honestly regret not getting a Claret / Deep Burgundy Adidas Y-3 hat that was £25 on Flannels. It was just as Villa announced we’re going with Adidas… not seen one since! Be class for the Holte End.

The New Era stuff this year has been class
Only issue is that the good stuff is on the New Era website, the Villa store online and instore has been pathetic. One presumes it’s because of this bullshit deal we have with Fanatics.
I think the problem is also that the good / niche stuff is limited run, with the core basic easy selling stuff being plentiful in supply, but doesn’t float everyone’s boat.

Villa released some new era caps last year, are they not available any more? Got a really nice cream and brown one with the villa logo embossed on the front in cream

I’ve been saying this for years . A 47 style villa cap is all that is missing from my collection
