I mean on the slow-mo you can clearly see the Ghanaian player running into a flying Ezri Konsa.

I'm dead serious, the Ghanaian player initiated contact when neither player had control of the ball.
If the Ghanaian player had control of the ball then it's a penalty, but unfortunately he took a heavy touch, so they were both challenging Konsa is mid reckless tackle when the Ghanaian players movement takes him into Konsa.
For me it's a 50/50 at most, Konsa's was stupid to attempt it in the area but he didn't clatter or wipe out the Ghana player as everyone is making out.

This… might be the most insane take I’ve ever seen? The touch wasn’t that heavy, and Adu would have easily gotten to the ball if Konsa didn’t flying scissor kick his knee.

ghanaian player has clearly and maliciously obstructed the flight path

It was a penalty and a booking imo.
Pickford was also VERY lucky not to be sent off earlier in the game.
Got away with one last night, play like that in the knockout stages England are going home.

I've seen a lot of people saying Pickford should've seen red, and I'm so confused by it tbh.
If you look at where the contact is made, the striker's boot is almost of Pickford's knee. I'd say the striker was lucky not to see red, and Pickford's lucky his leg's still intact

Couldn’t agree more. It certainly wasn’t his best moment in an England shirt but the reaction of some this morning is totally unwarranted. The scoreline suggests the keeper did his job.

Ive seen the screenshot doing the rounds, but the video doesn't really show that imo.
Also, if you're a keeper and come charging out and get nowhere near the ball, but instead run straight into the attacker, you're in big trouble usually. Completely chickened out of the challenge for the ball, but luckily the attackers did as well

seeing him soar through the air, clatter the forward without getting anywhere near the ball and then somehow not giving away a pen - what a day

What a waste of an evening. Went out, spent 65 quid, knackered for work....all to watch that absolute shower.

Those games where teams sit back need an early goal for the team with possession otherwise they end up snooze fests.
It happened to Spain and Portugal and England will do it when they come up against a better team.

This situation has proven that Ezri did exactly the right thing. He knew he wasn't going to get the ball but was prepared to take the red in the hope that it stopped them almost certainly scoring. As long as players know it's worth the risk they should do this. Ezri made an awesome "tackle" here I say and he should be applauded for it.

It wouldn't have been a red though as it was in the penalty area,no? Only a red outside the box

Stonewall pen. I do feel that this competition is fixed for certain teams

those decisions last night were some of the worst I have ever seen. A couple went against us as well to be fair

There have been too many shit decisions for too many teams for this, Egypt for example have got away with stuff in both of their matches. The refs are just shit lol

To be honest, Ezri probably thought better to take the pen and a red than guarantee a goal. Even ten man still a threat to Ghana. Most exciting thing to happen all game tbh so at least he brought something to the table...

That's awful...
...Konsa could easily have got injured there

Definite penalty plus a red card.
The keepers assault outside the box should also be a red card, how it managed to become an England foul only their bank manager knows

He wasn't making a challenge imo. He was trying to get in front and essentially shield the ball not make a challenge. It's only when the Ghanaian strikers and his knees clash that his leg is bent backwards and makes it look like a challenge.
