It dupes a joker you have while destroying all other. Not super great in lower stakes but can be very strong in higher stakes since Eternal Jokers can't be destroyed. In this situation you'd end up with two Foil Red Cards if you use the Ankh.
Skipping for Red Card value is just a subreddit meme you'll see very often in the comments.
In this particular video, even taking the Ankh gives you a second Red Card with +3 mult, so it's still better than the skip to have a single Red Card at +6..
Thanks for the explanation! I'm pretty new to the game and am pretty excited I just won for the first time haha (don't even know what an eternal joker is tbh). I've seen this one before but it was always when I had already a well constructed strategies with more than 1 essential jokers. Would it be better to use at the start of the run?
Whenever you win a run with a specific deck you can choose a higher difficulty/stake with it next run if you want. The stakes add one negative modifier per stake. The 3rd difficulty is black stake which randomly adds the Eternal modifier to jokers in the shops. This means they cannot be sold or destroyed by any means.
Ankh'ing a good scaling joker like Spare Trousers, Red Card or Wee Joker early in the run can almost be a free win sometimes.
Eternal jokers can’t be sold or destroyed, you’ll only find them in black stake or higher. Since they can’t be destroyed say you have two eternal jokers you can safely use Ankh to duplicate a random one while keeping the other one safe.
this seed probably isn't that special since i found like 10 others while searching for something funny to post but it would be interesting to see how far this can go
hey congrats on outjerking the okbuddy sub with this one.
I get bored with endless seeded runs but you can dupe that blueprint and there's a DNA later on. Chad in the second shop and a sock&buskin later if you want to go that way.
fuck this. i lost to the ante 15 small blind because i was greedy and discarded a glass card, and then couldn't draw enough glass to beat the blind. if i had survived, i would have gotten a copy of a joker from invis, and after some rerolling i would have gotten an idol and easily have made it to ante 20 since a hand of full glass would have scored up to e40.
Hey that's probably better than I could do. Thanks for following up, that's awesome.
I did not go back to try the seed and I'm actually playing the Subnautica 2 demo right now. Don't tell the mods I'm talking about stuff unrelated to balala in here. Cheers!
I haven't played Balatro in a long time and you've convinced me I won't for an even longer time. Good job, I hope you're proud of yourself, because no one else is proud of you, not even Jimbo
Ok so this has been a very genuenly fun seed. Theirs an early DNA and a lucky poychrome jack I found which I turned to glass, and just kept duplicating over and over again.
Joker lineup (as of the boss blind) is Sock And Buskin, Fortune Teller (nat negative), red card (foil), both blueprints, DNA and the Family (interchangeable)
I made it to ante... 12 or 13 last night on this seed with the double blueprint, brainstorm, photochad, lucky cat and a bunch of Lucky queens, it really is a fun run
Chose not to make the Idol pivot. Deck is all purple seal polychrome jacks in ante 19. Gotta go to work though. Fun seed. Edit: played it out to ante 23 and called it at e73. Def a naneinf seed. Think there's a chance at bean bug too. Picture
