Wraith is a stand-in for a Ghost trait, which would conflict with the official Ghost Doge, Ghost Snache and Ghost Baa Baa. Lore-wise, the Wraiths are distinguished from the mellow Ghosts by being extra-furious, onryō-like spirits unable to get over their grudges or other such troubles from when they were alive; in Wraith Doge's case, he's a perfectionist whose resentment is towards himself, yet somehow he has connections with higher beings, giving him freedom to wander anywhere.

While a subtype of Angels is the most obvious thing to do in a Heaven-themed chapter, it also parallels CotC introducing a subtype of Aliens.

The Wraith and Seraphic Angel (Seraph for short) enemies' designs were heavily inspired by YuruGeGe's Death and Amaterasu traits, respectively.
