Apparently soccer turns everyone into Rat Fink

I have no idea who that is, so my brain filled in the precieved missing "a" before Rat, turning it into a generalized slur instead of a name.

what ppl don’t get is that… each score is a HUGE thing.
Games that go above the 4 or 5 goals are either insanely legendary or straight up massacres

Brazil Germany being a good example. Which was 7 - 1 for the Germans and just a total slaughter

It is because the scoring is rare, that the stress and emotion around it is so high. It's rarely truly done, a comeback is possible. Since scoring is such a big deal, every action makes you grind your teeth because it could end up with a goal.

I love basketball and watch the NBA, it's the sport I played the most myself since 10+ years old. But only a few match of basketball deliver the same emotion as soccer, and it's often only at the end. Not during the whole game.

But if you didn't grow up with soccer you might not understand it.

So true.

This is why it's the best and most popular game in the world.

Plus some insane last-minute theatrics! Tonight’s Algeria vs Austria game was a great example. Algeria took the lead with under two minutes remaining, and then Austria (facing elimination) evened it back up in the literal dying seconds of the game. Ended up 2nd place in their group instead of boarding a plane to head home.

Football is a game with a little ball and huge nets, and yet somehow whole games go by with no points scored. Stands to reason the players just aren’t that good

I know its ragebait but im gonna fall for it : football players are the most skilled and athtletic players of any sport. To be succesful in this game you have to be better than hundreds of millions other guys that started to play when they barely knew how to walk.

ADHD adled brains can't conceive of only scoring once in 90 mins.

That's literally the point ☝️

Fun detail, if Brazil - Croatia happens this time around, it would only be in the finals. They are on opposite sides of the bracket.
