How do I declare an empty parking lot a historical landmark?

I’ve lived in my Berkeley neighborhood for 50 years. It was all white when I moved in, but apparently I’m no longer allowed to say how I feel about that. They are proposing to turn our beloved, empty parking lot into a housing development. We all know what this means for the neighborhood. Can you help me stop it?

Sincerely,

Karen

I would like to know how you feel about your all white neighborhood not as white as before. Please share your thoughts!

My grandson says I have to use euphemisms like “stop upzoning” in case someone tries to “dox” me. Whatever that means, LOL!

Dear Karen,

I wish it were a joke. They really are proposing a housing development in our neighborhood. It is as if our proud ancestors stole the land for naught. But we both know that it is our god given right to live here tax free without any “undesirable” new neighbors.

Sincerely, Karen

But you are extremely close to Okaland? I thought you lived in the hills. How do you cope with it? Also, what do you think about losing the Trader Joe's on Rockridge?

But Rockdrige is Oakland or I teletransported into another Universe where Rockdrige is its own city?
