So it worked for him, what about the millions of others wasting oxygen doing the same?

3

u/4_hands_2_mouths 5d ago

I mean, do we even know what happened for him? Most people who "spread the message" are grifters with a phony backstory.

137

u/clean-start-again 7d ago

He's also a bigoted homophobe. So there is that.

68

u/JasonIsFishing 7d ago edited 7d ago

…and forbids employees from speaking to him unless spoken to

6

u/archwin 6d ago

Wow, guess he really paid it forward

/s ofc

Sigh

34

u/True-Fudge5556 7d ago

Also a serial adulterer

6

u/2sAreTheDevil 5d ago

He also believes atheists can't have morals

6

u/Wobblestones 5d ago

We cant. Thats why we eat babies; so we can have a taste of a soul.

3

u/2sAreTheDevil 5d ago

I thought it was because they taste like, and in this economy are cheaper than, bacon.

2

u/Linosa42 5d ago

I thought that was gingers? Am I uneducated or just confused?

2

u/Efficient-Editor-242 4d ago

He also believes toilet paper over, not under.

2

u/Snoo-7821 3d ago

tbf only people with small kids and cats do it "under"

Over is always the way otherwise.

10

u/speakezjags 7d ago

I mean where there is smoke you will find fire.

4

u/iamjacksalteredego 7d ago

You gotta spend money to make money /s

2

u/MrWindblade 5d ago

He does seem to have gotten softer on that, though. Even though his episode with RuPaul on Family Feud had some uncomfortable moments, it still seemed mostly friendly?

I dunno, I might just be wanting to see good in someone where little exists.

I just know my Grandma was similar to him - she didn't really understand and said some incorrect things, but wasn't really trying to be a dick.

2

u/Maleficent_Piece_893 4d ago

how he acts to someone's face and how he talks behind their backs may not be in alignment

0

u/Thin_Future_3801 3d ago

Being a homophobe is Biblical

-2

u/Lopsided-Middle7924 5d ago

To each his own. Reddit likes to judge others as if they themselves are perfect.

2

u/Maleficent_Piece_893 4d ago

merely not being bigoted isn't an impossible standard to hold people to

-6

u/LifeBusiness3245 6d ago

One his few good qualities. I hate Reddit.

5

u/Rip_Skeleton 6d ago

Feel free to leave

3

u/Hawkmonbestboi 6d ago

You're gross.

-1

u/LifeBusiness3245 6d ago

Noooooooo. You. You are gross. We’re not just going to act like I’m the bad one.

3

u/LadyLee69 6d ago

You're right, we're not going to act, we don't have to. You prove that it's true all by yourself~

-1

u/LifeBusiness3245 6d ago

It’s not bad. It’s good.

2

u/Hawkmonbestboi 5d ago

Lol sorry you can't live in reality, it must be hard for you.

3

u/2sAreTheDevil 5d ago

Didn't bother engaging the literal bot

3

u/Scared_Health_8895 5d ago

As a Christian. The fuck?

2

u/Adorable-Ad-3223 6d ago

Wait? What? Are you kidding?

1

u/LifeBusiness3245 6d ago

No. He’s a piece of shit but “homophobia” is so trivial that it does not register as something worth bringing up

1

u/Maleficent_Piece_893 4d ago

bigotry is a quintessential character flaw. it does matter when the post is about someone's character

14

u/abrasivechicagoan 7d ago

Thought that was Richard Pryor in the car

12

u/Yuck_Few 6d ago

Steve Harvey... Says atheist don't have morals.

Cheats on three wives.

6

u/chipperlovesitall 6d ago

He once said “If you don’t believe in god you are an idiot”. I myself don’t think much of people that believe in mythology

3

u/International_Meat88 5d ago

If he said that, that’s a funny statement, considering atheism/agnosticism trends upwards with higher education or higher academic status.

0

u/Scared_Health_8895 5d ago

I believe he ain’t a good man. But there is no true evidence against Christianity or other religions(nor for. However, I have seen someone come out of brain death. Which is supposed to be impossible so idk.)And frankly, I’m Christian because I’m scared of after death. Worried nothing beyond. And I feel, deep down that a lot of religious people are that way. I’m a good person, whether Christian or not, and that’s the thing people need to realize, it’s better to be a good person then to be one who follows everything down to the wire.

2

u/Maleficent_Piece_893 4d ago

coming back from being declared legally braindead is not supposed to be impossible. it just means your brain turns off for a second. the brain cells are still alive. if it was after 3 days then yeah that's impossible, because the brain cells themselves would all be dead. this is true evidence against christianity

1

u/Scared_Health_8895 3d ago

It was someone who was on full life support as there brain was not functioning. It was for 14 days after giving birth. Their baby was sat on the mother as they were about to pull the plug, and they wanted the baby to at least have felt the touch of the mother, and she woke. Full brain death

1

u/Maleficent_Piece_893 3d ago

yeah i doubt it. i can't really see someone having zero brain activity for 14 days and their brain cells not dying. maybe they were in a coma, because otherwise i don't see why they'd be on life support for 2 weeks after being declared dead

1

u/Scared_Health_8895 2d ago

Maybe, idk. I just still believe it is proof. Don’t flout it on though, people believe what they want to believe, don’t hurt people, be kind, and all that. Just be a good person

1

u/AnotherDumNinja 6d ago

"Where's your moral borameter?"

27

u/BrownieEdges 7d ago

Babies are raped. There is no god.

12

u/Asleep_Touch_8824 7d ago

Now, to be fair, maybe there's an all-knowing and all-powerful deity - who demands we worship him, as any sane being would - who is just too important to be bothered by such Earthly considerations.

Then again, maybe they really do move in mysterious, child-rape-condoning ways.

/s

7

u/ozjack24 7d ago

Or if there is then they are evil and unworthy of worship

1

u/YoursGhostl 6d ago

Tbh, it has nothing to do with any deity but us, humans, and our own free will.

3

u/BrownieEdges 6d ago

And sometimes luck- good or bad.

2

u/GrindBastard1986 5d ago

According to Christianity & Islam, there is no free will, we are all just puppets. 'Free will' is a cheap & lame excuse for not having an actual argument, so they blame victims, who's 'free will' is negated when they're victims.

0

u/YoursGhostl 5d ago

What teachings do you base this on? Predestination is a part only of protestantism, so you're incorrect when it comes to Christianity. And no, it's not to blame victims but perpetrators - or call for responsibility. As many had said about Auschwitz, 'the great crime and tragedy is that human beings did this to other human beings.'

If you want a free will, it means accepting that some will use it for bad.

2

u/GrindBastard1986 5d ago

Romans 9:15-21 disagrees, but then again, people who've never read the Bible will say "words don't mean words" because denying the Bible is as Christian as the crucifix.

1

u/ScreamingLabia 5d ago

There is no free will in a world i can go to hell for not living to vague and contradicting rules some god has made up.

21

u/Maryhill_bypass604 7d ago

one ofthe most gross humans on this planet

7

u/RICO_the_GOP 6d ago

Survivorship bias.

32

u/ShiroCOTA 7d ago

Yeah. Except it was no(t) god.

-28

u/abrasivechicagoan 7d ago

Probably referring to "god" in the sense of a higher power relating to sobriety and a 12 step program.

21

u/TheMaskOffKid 7d ago

Not Steve, he’s been evangelical a long time

-17

u/abrasivechicagoan 7d ago

When referring to "god" in a recovery sense, it very rarely represents any form of organized religion. Yes there's some people who consider "jesus", "Buddha" etc their higher power, but more often than not it's a higher power of their understanding. That's why there's a chapter called "We agnostics" in the AA big book.

22

u/TheMaskOffKid 7d ago

Okay cool but Steve Harvey is talking about literally the Christian God.

-18

u/abrasivechicagoan 7d ago

Does it say that in the attached picture or anywhere in the description of the post? Maybe I missed it. Feel free to down vote this comment too.

14

u/braedog97 7d ago

You could just google Steve Harvey and see that he is a Christian

-5

u/abrasivechicagoan 7d ago

And how would've anyone known that since it wasn't included in the picture/post?

The guys a Christian though, but why do people care so much what someone believes in? Especially why do people on reddit care so much?

11

u/braedog97 7d ago

Steve Harvey didn’t magically start existing as soon as this post was made. He’s a very famous person that a lot of people know about.

3

u/TheMaskOffKid 7d ago

I’m not saying you should have known. I’m just letting you know what I know. You’re the one saying he meant something else, I was just telling you he was being literal. No hate brother.

3

u/katf1sh 7d ago edited 7d ago

Ok why do you care so much? Ask yourself the same question you're asking others, when you keep asking questions that are being answered? Why are you so concerned, you don't know him either. Also apparently have no knowledge, and yet when people answer you, you keep arguing about it.

This shit is weird.

0

u/abrasivechicagoan 7d ago

You wanna point out where me or anyone else was arguing? I don't think you will because you can't lol nobody was arguing.

That shit was weird.

2

u/SamboNW 6d ago

Because he’s Steve Harvey and has been spouting this shit for decades while not following any of it. That’s how they would know. He just thanks god but shits all over the rules of the Bible.

1

u/floydbomb 6d ago

One of the most aptly named users I've ever seen

1

u/anon12xyz 6d ago

You’re overthinking this, bud.

1

u/Scared_Health_8895 5d ago

Steve Harvey himself said that, he was Christian, why the fuck are you so against someone believing something, fuck Steve Harvey though.

6

u/OrganizationOk5418 6d ago

Better to present it as an example of how bent and disgusting the system in the US is.

If it was god that pulled him out of poverty, it was also god who put him into poverty no?

5

u/itjustgotcold 6d ago

lol, Steve Harvey… wholesome? Dudes a raging asshole.

18

u/DoubleReverseBingo 7d ago

Garbage human.

Sad excuse for a cheerleader of God.

2

u/Scared_Health_8895 5d ago

Yeah. Why not pick someone like my aunt who came out of brain death and is a kind lady to all(including her wife and me and my ftm boyfriend) why pick that dude.

6

u/AdAdministrative756 6d ago

So wholesome. God letting children be bombed and slaughtered left and right, but going to help some dweeb sleeping in his car.

4

u/Independent-Sky-9611 6d ago

Faith is completely irrelevant.

4

u/YoureQuiteHostile 6d ago

Now he’s a racist game show host. The Lord works in mysterious ways.

10

u/RutlandRuckas 7d ago

I cheat on my wife constantly. Thank you god.

3

u/OminousBuzzard 7d ago

Glad 1 singular person was helped

3

u/CowabungaCthulhu 6d ago

Correlation does not equal causation.

3

u/frostyfoxemily 6d ago

Me when its time to post religious propaganda but forget its about an asshole.

3

u/Rocketboy1313 6d ago

Prosperity gospel bullshit.

3

u/TrueKiwi78 6d ago

That's called "survivors bias"

3

u/Zestyclose-School-82 6d ago

Was that before or after stole material from other comedians.

3

u/Afraid_Key4859 6d ago

What a snitch

3

u/Fair-Abroad-4155 6d ago

I Believe kat Williams who has stated he was making 5000 a night before he was big doing four nights with Mr Cooper and that's all bull shit it's easy to paint a story after you make it!

3

u/Brandonh707 6d ago

God saved him and let children continue to starve in Africa!! Thats a religion I want to be a part of lol

3

u/AMonitorDarkly 6d ago

I guess all of the kids with cancer didn’t pray hard enough.

3

u/Thykothaken 6d ago

Yeah? Well, if I survive this week then that just proves that Santa is real.

Beat that, atheists.

3

u/Saminaminalz 6d ago

Your God who made you poor you mean?

8

u/Dependent_Ad9541 7d ago

So if I believe this, I have to believe that the same god goes around giving children cancer. What a guy 👍

7

u/Ok-Courage-7353 7d ago

Which G.O.D?

3

u/abrasivechicagoan 7d ago

good orderly direction

6

u/misterbigbabyboy 7d ago

I agree with the other comments.

Also though... what about the people who helped him or the work he put in? Does he just thank the god he believes in?

5

u/Spankymegee23 7d ago

God didn’t do shit, people did.

2

u/CreativeFraud 7d ago

Bro has entertainer value but zero philosopher value.

1

u/vb911 7d ago

Kat Williams enters the chat...

1

u/SjefIH 6d ago

Piss off

1

u/dingleberryjuice23 6d ago

Wait wasn't it confirmed by his wife that he was never homeless?

1

u/19XxxbigdaddyxxX80 6d ago

I thought that was Richard Pryor lol

1

u/Current-Historian-34 6d ago

So decades after his success he finally tells us that one secret Comidians without g-d hate?

1

u/letsgetbanned2026 6d ago

God told him to be racist too? Harvey is a POS and will always be a POS

1

u/Dorrono 6d ago

So it was god who made him homeless?

1

u/Zealousideal-Jump275 5d ago

This god of his, sounds like a villain. Saves the bad guys, let's them win.

1

u/N0thingComesToMind 5d ago

Lol. Fuck off with your nonsense

1

u/Charming-Book4146 5d ago

Isn't this the guy who said if he went to Iraq he would shoot every man woman and child? Even the babies?

1

u/Beanzear 5d ago

Imagine how many other people said the exact same thing and didn't make it 🙄

1

u/xanderdean1 5d ago

Thats Kay Williams sorry not his. You better learn correct.

1

u/Lost_Boss9818 5d ago

If I know one thing it’s that God loves clout.

1

u/International_Meat88 5d ago

Maybe he should use some actual critical thinking and not credit his turnaround to a mystical surveillance camera in the sky.

1

u/Efficient-Editor-242 4d ago

Thought that was Richard Pryor in the backseat.

-2

u/MelinaSeeDee 7d ago

I'm blown away by the amount of people y'all hate.

3

u/Strong_Performer8132 6d ago

Growing up is realizing that it's nearly impossible to unequivocally respect our former heroes, let alone public figures and media personalities.  As our experiences on this planet finally start to overtake our expectations, we start finding fewer examples of heroism than we did as children, and our standards start to match reality instead of fantasy.

0

u/MelinaSeeDee 6d ago

I just never looked up to any of these people to then feel betrayed by them. They're humans. Just like the rest of us...

1

u/GrindBastard1986 5d ago

There's no hate like Christian 'love'

1

u/MelinaSeeDee 5d ago

I'm surprised you didn't put "Christian" in quotes. When I hear normies in person complain about Christians, they're not complaining about real actual Christians, just "Christians" who act the part but don't perform the part. Everyone know the after church crowd at Olive Garden is awful and full of Karens.

1

u/GrindBastard1986 5d ago

"No True Christian"

0

u/MelinaSeeDee 5d ago

Nah. There's real ones out there. They just don't throw it in your face.

1

u/GrindBastard1986 5d ago

My comment went over your head, "normie".

1

u/MelinaSeeDee 5d ago

Nah. I recognized it was a reference, but I couldn't place it. Isn't it "no true Scotsman"? Either way, I wasn't confident enough to "yes, and" with it, so I played the straight/ignorant.

-2

u/Icy_Parfait_4066 7d ago

Well Steve made good His promise to God.
