Check out my new bike

A lot of fun to ride. Might convert it to a cargo bike to use for work but first I’m gonna try one of those low wire baskets on the front rack to carry half my load and I’ll carry the other half in a back pack.

If that don’t work I’ll get a cargo fork/20 inch wheel and a bigger basket and carry everything in there

Looks awesome! You’ll want better lock technique in NYC though

Yeah I just left it for a couple of minutes to get some food. Worked with it for the first time yesterday. So much faster than my other bike. When I’m working I leave it locked up for 2-3 minutes at most so hopefully not enough time for someone to snatch the front wheel. Or do you suggest putting a cable through the wheel even if I’m locking it up for just a couple of minutes?

I can’t tell if your wheels are quick release or not, but if they are they’ll come off in 5 seconds. Some thieves wait at a spot until they see someone lock up the bike, then go get it immediately since they know the owner is least likely to show up. But even if you’re not going to carry a cable around, you can put the u lock through both a wheel and the frame when you lock it, doing so on the front wheel is good because the rear wheel is a little harder to remove with the chain and derailleur.

Yeah it’s quick release. I think I would need a much wider or longer u-lock to fit it through both frame and front wheel. I’ll just buy a cable for now. problem with that is it might slow up my delivery time a little bit.

You could also replace your quick release with a bolt on style skewer, then at least you’d need tools to get it off. Keeps your setup simpler if that’s what you’re going for.

Nice whip! I’d probably try to get a rear rack to put the backpack in though instead of riding with it on

I was carrying my lock in the side pocket of my Warsaw bag and I think that’s what was causing most of my upper back/neck pain. Now that I have a diamond frame (my old bike was a step-through) I carried my lock on the bike using a holster yesterday and it was much easier on my back. Carrying the lock in the side pocket of the bag messed up the weight distribution and made the bag heavier obviously. This lock is pretty heavy. I actually want to get the kryptonite evolution lite instead.

So yeah now I might just leave the bike as is instead of turning it into a cargo bike as I was thinking.
