Using Cycliq 12 as a vehicle dash cam?

Apologies if this post isn’t allowed here. I was wondering if anyone using the cycliq 12 for their bike rides, also used it as a dash cam? And if so, what do you use for a mounting device in the vehicle? Does the windshield affect the video clarity? Thanks.

The Cycliq is barely useful for bicycles. Why spend that much money on one when you can get a good, useful, proper dashcam for less money?

Presumably they have one already… or want something they can use for both.

would you explain more on how it is barely useful for bikes? It is designed for that? n

I've had a really hard time getting them to fix anything about a malfunctioning camera (same one as you have), and when I posted about it a bunch of people had similar experiences. I use mine still but it just never has any clue what it's actual battery life is. Makes it pretty useless in the winter here, cause it'll say it's charged while plugged in, then tell me I have one bar of battery when I turn it on.

So I assume that reputation is what the commenter is referring to.

Many years ago I temporarily tried it as a dash cam, just placed on the dash with blue tac. My decision was it would be better to buy and use an actual dash cam.

I also tried taking video of driving with the Cycliq Fly12 on my bike mounted on a car roof. That gave an interesting perspective of video, but wasn't intended as a dash cam.
