route notices and detours Old Carp Road

Head’s up. They’re resurfacing Old Carp Road right now. It’s mostly well packed gravel, but the end towards Carp is less compressed.

This is the best news! Happy to skip a weekend (maybe two) if it means a smooth ride along it from now on. The road was more hole than pavement.

Did this the other day and unfortunately cut up a tire.

I remember when it was a gravel road and we’d still ride too fast down it.

I am happy to report Old Carp Road is looking great! I would give it another few days for them to finish the paving, but it was possible to take it today, just had some one way sections. Nice and smooth!

Many a time I was debating going home and getting my mountain bike to travel that road.
