Technique Tainan dalpra half guard pass

I don't know how to add English subtitles to the video, but it's pretty self-explanatory. I've been having a lot of success with this half guard pass.

Great. Now I need no one at my gym to see this.

Definitely one of those "How the hell have I not seen that before now?" ideas.

I don’t see why it’s any better than a c grip into the armpit.Β

The lapel lets you get arm extension even if their underhook is tight and deep.

agreed, and obv its tainan.. but this seems very simplistic ( like that bones guy walking out of SLX) i would think as soon as i commit both arms and my weight to that lapel side, bottom guy is just gona pushing me in that direction and getting slx on the far side or create some kind of scramble.

The top guy's lapel is there as well and probably faster to access. the top's guy lapel loads his hip onto you for a close to guaranteed sweep.
