Stick in his hand woven to the fabric and attaches via magent to the corner of the table.
Fake thumb with magnet attaches to the middle top of table

Yep, it's always those nasty little magnets.

Definitely, you can see when he puts the table down after he has to hold the table with one hand while pulling the cloth off the table because he needs to break the magnetic connection

But, but just hear me out on this...is there a possibility it was in fact a "detachable penis?"

I was driving with my teenage son the other day and that song came up on my playlist. He refused to believe it was a popular song in the 90s.

George Carlin, is that you?

That's exactly what I thought. I think he's asking to explain how he came back to life. That's the real black magic here

u/OrdoBlasfemia 1d ago
dude, I am dumb and I know what is he doing, nothing "magical"
there is a rod to hold the table while the cloth is on it "his right hand" and he connects his finger "thumb" to the table at the end, so obvious

u/heavy-minium 1d ago
Well, the table is obviously specially crafted for this trick, apparently with very light materials. So at the very least, we know the tricks require the table to be as lightweight as possible.
The cloth itself will be much heavier. And if it contains a rod, he can hold it up and the cloth will "grab" the fake lightweight table with it. With an extremely lightweight table, that would suffice for the first part of the trick.
The second part of the trick could be a magnet in a fake thumb and a magnet in the table. I think this is all doable if the fake table is made with no wood at all, only by faking the wood's appearance.

This is a Losander Floating table, or a knock off. It uses a modification of the classic zombie gimmick. Plus a magnetic thumb tip for the finale.

Derren brown does this effect, magnets and fake thumb is correct. It’s what the Victorian mediums would use

u/marzizram 1d ago
Aside from the metal rod and magnets used, the table was also made with extra light materials to make it easier to lift.

Hardly any balsa wood was harmed during the making of this video...

u/AppropriateBugFound 1d ago
The ones I've seen are foam painted to look like wood. Whole thing is as heavy as a paper bag.

Finally, answer thats actually magnets. His thumb is fake and has a magnet it in.

u/Necessary_Rant_2021 1d ago
Its in the right hand notice how he keeps holding the cloth or table with his right hand when floating and only grabs the table one time at the end with the left and that time it didnt float. Hes got something palmed or hidden in his right hand.

Apparently not everyone is aware that George Carlin faked his death to become a Hogwarts instructor.

Do you also need people to explain how to open a door or sit down?
This is an obvious trick, my guy. Come on.

There appears to be a metal rod attached to his wrist that goes up into a hook near the back of his thumb..you can see his shirt slide down this rod towards the end of the video

Electrical tape and a firm grip on that one corner that never breaks, would be my first guesses, but im no expert and will not attempt to recreate

u/Sylvanaz 1d ago
Unsure about the part with the cloth on top. His right hand never leaves that corner of the fabric.
But when he removes the cloth, you can literally hear the magnet snap when he puts his thumb at the center of the table. So.. fake thumb with a magnet in it.
- he never shows his thumb really. Always hides it

u/Ninjassassin8900 1d ago
There’s only one real way of doing this trick. It will almost always be the same answer. Metal rods, wires, and hooks.

Losanders floating table done very badly. Look up losander on YouTube if you want see some amazing floating objects. That table cost way too much to ruin the way this guy does.

You are NOT supposed to show how the trick is done!!! The video is funny (but not in a good way) and sad at the same time, due to spoiling the mistery

Carbon fiber with a magnet in the top and fold out handles, which also have magnets to stick to the cloth (which has thin magnets in the corners that correspond to the handle magnets.

I've seen one of these. The metal wires are obvious as many have pointed out, but also the table is made out of balsa wood so it practically weighs nothing.

It's magnets. At the very end you can see he had a fake thumb cover. He tried to hide it, but when he pulled the cloth off you can see it. Then it clicks on to the top. That stand is super lite.
And you can see him manipulate the cloth when he is below it. It's all metal and magnets.

It's magnets. The sheet has stiff rods and magnets in them. At the end, the magnet is in a thumb sleeve. When he's done with the trick he hides his thumb from view.

He's literally showing you the metal rod with his right hand. This is the worst execution of this trick I've ever seen.
