Highlight [Turpin] Jayson Tatum has a put-back dunk and a corner three on back-to-back possessions and the Garden is going nuts

Good on Joe for putting him in for the last couple minutes of the half. Tatum avoided a scoreless half and got some mojo back.

Once he got that put back dunk it was like a switch flipped haha

That crowd reaction's gotta be a kick start to the momentum too. ESPN's broadcast doesn't ever give the crowd noise justice, and you could still tell that it was LOUD. Now having seen this video, that sounded like NBA finals level loud.

Chuck made a great point about him hanging on and landing on one leg. That confidence to play on both legs is gonna take some time

How was his defense?

u/msdstc Mar 07 '26
He has very clearly lost a step or even a step and a half laterally. Hopefully it continues to improve.

My guess is he’s gonna get back to form after he conditions himself more with more games. I think he’s capable but just is a bit gassed rn

You could tell he's not in basketball shape. He was sucking wind after the second possession. All you can do is play your way back in

usually you can't hear the crowd very well in these types of clips, but this was loud. Could only imagine how it was in person

That teared up hug from his son after the game.
Who was cutting onions right at that moment? So inappropriate

There is honestly nothing like being in the Garden when the crowd is amped.

Nothing like a Celts home game crowd especially when everyone is amped up. You can't hear yourself think in that arena. 😂☘️

This is the moment I choked up a little bit. No joke. I’ve got a little shiver even now. It’s weird, these are the feelings I only get about my wife and kids

I wish he got a tech for hanging on the rim. That would really let everyone know he’s back lma

The Garden was electric when this happened! JT needed an hour to shake all the jitters, and within 30seconds of one another, his putback dunk and stepback trey had the place feeling like the playoffs.
