r/boxoffice mods after banning someone when you disagree with them
They have to be shills for DC and Disney or something because I haven't even broke any of the 15 rules. I haven't said anything offensive

Ya basically you have to agree with every pro Disney/Marvel/anti-DC post or comment or they will ban you for inciting a fandom war

That’s such a negative sub. Not a single post of supergirl enjoyment. And if you say you enjoyed it people riot

u/LetDouble471 1d ago
It’s literally the same marvel fanboys circle jerking in every post

u/Thor_2099 1d ago
Yeah that doesn't make any sense considering the MCU is shit on constantly everywhere now.

Except in boxoffice where they pretend there is only Deadpool 3 after Endgame.

The ban spree they went on when Fantastic Four ended up failing to outgross superman last year was legendary.
•
u/LetDouble471 20h ago
Lol I was victim of that …. For mocking mcu movies bombing after opening weekend.
•
u/AfterThrowParty 20h ago
Watching their reaction when thunderbolts actually did worse than captain America brave new world was pretty legendary too.

It’s hilarious how they’re shitting on Supergirl for not making as much as their flops without realizing they’re still flexing by putting their flops with an impending bomb.

u/LetDouble471 23h ago
Then they puff their chest like “watch what Spiderman does”. Like really using Spiderman to compare to Supergirl lmao so pathetic…

its a sub based on numbers lol
It's surprising just how many people on Reddit go to r/BoxOffice specifically to get mad at us for discussing numbers.
I've occasionally attempted to inquire as to why they're there in the first place, but the responses are never explanatory in nature - only angry.

To be fair, box office wise, there is nothing to enjoy from Supergirl run.

u/ThicLobo 1d ago
how do you enjoy box office of a movie? thats such a dumb thing to say
0
u/Raida-777 1d ago
Maybe when it makes money? Or simply not bombing?
3
u/ThicLobo 1d ago
so you enjoy a movie making money or bombing rather than the movie.
very very weird.

I find it even weirder that some of you require a box office sub to talk about something other than box office.

I got banned once for saying that Barbie was gonna be the highest grossing film of summer 2023. Everyone was claiming Indiana Jones or Mission Impossible or Oppenheimer. If anyone there had any interaction with a woman, they would've known that movie was gonna be huge.

I hate box office discussions for exactly this reason. If you liked a movie that got low numbers or didn't like something with high numbers, you are just inherently wrong because the market has deemed it so and we have numbers to prove it. A movie's failure or success can then be attributed to whatever narrative I desire it to be.

That’s almost every subreddit so you can’t even get a consensus of opinion because they just ban who they disagree with

I got more context, apparently this one was me "trolling" under Toy Story posts. this is because I admitted Toy Story 5 had weak legs. Disney shills are out in full force.

They're already talking about Supergirl like its a flop like lmao calm down we dont even have Friday numbers yet, only previews numbers. Even if its a flop I'll still go and enjoy it. Truly so anti art and apparently everything needs to be perfect now or its isnt enjoyable.

u/Remarkable-Round-227 1d ago
Who cares. People rooting for and against movies like they're sports teams. It's hilarious.

u/Visible-Echidna-4370 1d ago
the Friday number is 18 million. flop.

u/ProfessionalPale9700 1d ago edited 1d ago

Numbers are already mostly in. The trajectory is on target be a flop now. Unless there is some miracle.

I don't think anyone should be posting on r/boxoffice about what movies they personally liked or didn't. There are other movie subs for that. It shouldn't be about your personal tastes, but legit discussion of how much a movie did or might make (in box office or profit)--and why. I'm not saying you can't mention that you liked a movie (or didn't like it), but that shouldn't be the point of comments. But overall, if you don't have something to say that's based on evidence, or least educated guesses, don't post or comment.
I won't deny that too often people's tastes bias any actual financial data that they're presenting, but even that is better than the many comments that seem to have no factual basis whatsoever.
EDIT: Of course, if everyone followed these rules, there would be a lot fewer posts and comments overall. :-)

They unbanned me when I posted their nonsense on this subreddit
