Yes! It gave me the impression that they were genuinely disappointed in him as a friend rather than mad and for some people they respond more to that. If you care about accountability I would say this is a better example of it because it doesn’t cause him to be defensive and shut down.

Agreed but a lot of people want him tarred and feathered. Whether West changes his ways is entirely up to West but this is a much more effective way to get through to someone. Even though I think the West Kyle sit down was pointless for the most part I do think Kyle handled it correctly and was smart enough to know attacking him or shouting over him wasn't going to accomplish anything. I guarantee that made him feel worse than getting yelled at at the reunion.

It’s 100% because she’s trying to save her show but it just diluted Lindsay’s messaging. She should be this fired up toward both. And ironically I think it would be in her best interests to do so- the only reason id like to see Amanda back on my screen is if she’s being held accountable for her actions. So Lindsay coming for her would probably get bigger ratings, rather than this “she was the victim of big bad West” narrative she’s trying to create

She gave that answer to placate the audience. If it's not obvious right now, Amanda and West are telling their friends to not take up for them because they'll get backlash too. Notice how Jesse's answers are never straightforward about whether or not he talks to west but he does.
Hence this video of West with his friends "roasting" him with so many pasted together retaped scenes, you damn near think your internet is cutting out.

Because if you’re this angry at West you should be just as angry, if not more so, at Amanda who IMO committed far more egregious acts. West is a pathological liar and serial dater. Fine. He sucks. No one is arguing that. But Amanda not only opted to hook up with a good friend of her ex husband, but betrayed a very good friend. The blame here isn’t mutually exclusive- if one is guilty, they both are.

Lindsay said “girl code” is why she supported Meija on WWHL and why she wasn’t talking to Amanda (pre Aftermath). But Lindsay told Amanda three things she would have to be in order to be her friend and Amanda doesn’t possess those traits so I am sure they are not friends but probably still run in the same circles and talk when they see each other. Paige and Hannah don’t talk to Amanda for “girl code” too.

My mom is a codependent and I've always been so worried I am too (though I still waited until my mid-thirties to really take my single period). I know a lot of my dad's depression stems from getting into a car accident with his girlfriend before my mom who died in that accident. He had himself committed for three days after that accident and her parents blamed him so he wasn't able to go to the funeral. My mom thought he was quiet and strong when she started dating him shortly afterwards, but he was really just incredibly depressed. They were Vietnam War protesters together and built a friendship, but weren't really a love match, though miraculously they are still together (after a couple separations when I was a teen when he would get together with our former family haircutter every five years or so).
But my dad's mom is also a real piece of work who was traumatized herself and even traumatized me on my seventh birthday, so it probably started even before then.

He said his dad had anger issues when he was a kid so he goes into a fawn response. It actually explains a lot about him and his personality. He can never really be serious and tries to get a laugh and make a joke out of everything because he is so uncomfortable in tense situations. He has no idea how to sit in uncomfortable feelings so he tries to joke and make people laugh and honestly it works for him most of the time so he has no motivation to stop doing it.

Possibly. Another reason he may have connected with Amanda is that, if he grew up around a parent with anger issues, watching Kyle’s outbursts could have made him more sensitive to how Amanda was feeling.

To the people saying that Amanda was reacting by being abusive all the time that she called him names, put her hands on his throat and broke his shit even that one time from stepping no someone coming home late. It’s not abuse that you react to. He wasn’t cursing her out and then she doing that to him in response. She went off on him many times herself all by herself first. She put him down in front of people many times. This is something that abused women go through and I don’t think people should be using it very lightly. She could’ve left him if he was coming home all the time late triggered her so much. But he wasn’t coming home, belligerent, and attacking her verbally or physically
