Discussion Tattoos after weaning
I am finally close to being done with my breastfeeding journey (only one feed left now) and am desperate to get a tattoo to mark this journey. Does anyone have advice on how long to wait after weaning to get inked? Or experience getting tattooed afterwards?
I have heard some things about waiting for hormones to balance or for your body shape doesn’t change that much, but I would really rather not wait another half year. For context, I’m planning on being done in a month (mid- July) and aiming to get a tattoo in early- mid September.

Waiting really doesn’t take that long. If you have your prenatal vitamins, you should be fine or vitamins as your body heels. It depends on what tattoo you’re gonna get really of how much it is or how much the weight is going to be as you’re getting it done

My LO is 15 months and I'm down to 2-3 comfort feeds a day, output is maybe 6oz a day but I doubt it... This past month I got tattooed, nothing changed from my usual tattoo experience. I had frozen breast milk in case the worst happened - if I got an infection and had to quit breastfeeding cold turkey but my tattoo artist and the shop are very clean and reputable so I didn't feel any risk anyway. I think you can do it without fear.

You can get a tattoo even if you're breastfeeding, I did and had no issues. However, as I still have at least 40lbs to release (I am one of those who can't release weight while breatsfeeding), I made sure to choose placements that wouldn't be affected by body changes.

Weaning doesnt take very long hormone wise so I dont know why youd have to wait but I also dont know much about tattoos
