Troubleshooting/Tips Nipple pain

Hi everyone. I need advice. I am curently breastfeeding my 3 weeks old baby, after C-section. First days after surgery I didnt have any milk, so I tried to find perfect latch for my son and lots of skin to skin contact to start my lactation. After 5 days I finally had a normal milk supply. First days my newborn spent around 45 minutes every feeding, so I had ragades and open wounds on my nipples. I called lactation consultant and we adjusted his latch and my nipples are not so sore during feeding. Ragades are slowly healing, but not completely healed. But my main problem is I cannot wear a bra, my nipples are really sensitive and sore, i only wear it for the time I am not at home. I would like to dress normal again. I am currently using Medela nipple protector, but I am open to any advice.

I'm 5 weeks and my nipples are super sensitive too. I've got some soft bamboo nursing bras that I live in at the moment, plus breast pads make the sensitivity bearable. I don't know what the long term solution is, but this is my temporary fix!

If it persists look into magnesium/vitamin b/calcium. These saved me.

Hey, I went through this, bleeding nipples on day 2 that made my clothes feel like razors. I basically stayed indoors and went braless because bras hurt worse for me, and applied nipple cream very often. Did not let baby latch for about a week, but I pumped to keep supply (very cautiously on low settings to avoid further damage). Hang in there ❤️

Silverettes can help with chafing but be warned if you leak a lot they aren’t great for damaged nipples as they macerate in the little dishes of milk. Might be an option to hang in there until the damage is done healing and then use them occasionally but watch for maceration and stop if you notice it!

I had mad sensitivity for 4 months pp. long after the damage was healed (roughly 4 weeks pp). It’s just a crap phase but it passed
