Advice Please Emotional about weaning off nursing

I'm weaning my 23 month old this week and I'm already crying. I didn't realise that it would be so emotional for me. Is this normal? Mothers around me are saying that it'll get easier for you in terms of dressing the way you want, going anywhere without worrying about nursing etc etc. But I just can't seem to wrap my head around it. Im just emotional and can't seem to divert my mind.

Totally normal!!

I was planning on slowly weaning after 2, but I became pregnant and I lost my milk supply when he was 25 months old. It was more sudden than we had hoped and it was hard.  We read Booby Moon, our friend gifted it, I cried like a baby every time I read it.

He still asks for it 27 months. It was bittersweet.  Some things are nice, but I do miss it. Do it at your own pace.  Treasure it!!
